America and the Kyoto protocol
Read everything on the Kyoto Protocol (KP) here.
The KP is an agreement of a lot of countries to face the problem of global heating. Basicly this is the problem: We burn too much oil and stuff, so more CO2 enters the air, more heat (from sunshine) stays in the atmosphere of the earth so the earth warms up. This has been proved. We can already see the results. The sea level rises, so that some parts of land being flooded. Others parts become much much drier so more deserts show up. Less land can be used for food production. We can face the problem by reducing the energy we're using. We can also plant more forests (or variations of it) to store CO2. If we don't stop this soon, the problems will get worse, and after a few 100 years, there might not even be an earth anymore. Recently, America, the biggest polluter of the world, stepped out of the Protocol, because it would 'hold back economical growth'. What do you think of this? |
hmmm...there should be an option of "Angrist just hates the US"
|
Or "America thinks they're the best and Angrist tries to show they're not".
|
Or maybe an option like
"Angrist is a mis-informed dumbass who doesn't have the slightest clue of what he's talking about." |

Angrist, you are horribly misinformed about any comment that begins with 'America.' Why don't you study world super powers, see what they've done in history, then compare them to the US.

Bond, I am NOT misinformed, I study these things in university. I know my facts.
So you don't feel like you can make a difference? What if everybody thinks that? Huh? I plan on the survival of the human race. I do what I can to help that. That's why I study Forest and Nature Conservation. |
You are misinformed. If you want to talk Dutch politics, go right ahead, I garauntee you know more than me in that field. When it comes to American politics, you're way off.
|
What more do you need to know?? America is the biggest polluter of the world (pun intended) and they spend less money on fighting it than other countries. Those are facts.
|
Angrist, it would cost A LOT of money for us to cut down on pollution and we're in a recession, plus we're not too far from going to war. Right now we're not in a spot where we can just make sweeping changes. So what you want us to do is a lot easier said than done. A lot easier...

I would vote for that as well.

How the heck is that a pun? |
I think America should lend a helping hand when their able.
