Default Do you like being the favorite/underdog?

Let me start this off by saying that I own a gamecube and an xbox. These systems are #2 and #3 in worldwide sales. PS2 is going to win this hardware round in the sales department.

My question for you is, depending on which systems you own, do you enjoy your consoles position. I understand that you, as a gamer, buy your systems based on games but sales play a big role in the success of a system (look at the dreamcast.) If you own a gamecube or xbox do you wish your system were #1 in sales. You would probably get more games, but as we all saw with the psx, getting more games usually just means getting large piles of crap.

Personally, I kind of like supporting the underdog. Even if the xbox is Microsoft's only system and it fails by the end of next year, I get to say that I was one of the few people who got to enjoy some of the greatest games ever. I can say the same about gamecube. There are millions of other xbox and gamecube owners out there, but it's a drop in the bucket compared to the ps2.

And for ps2 owners, do you enjoy your position, or do you wish that you were on a rogue system? I think the cube and the box get more unique games because publishers are more willing to try something on a smaller scale. They don't have to worry about producing many units and it represents a smaller risk (and yes, I do understand that releasing a game on the ps2 is, in actuality, a smaller risk because of a larger user base) but I can't see a game like animal crossing or gun valkyrie being released on the ps2.

For those of you fortunate to own all three systems, I'm sure most of you have a preference. If not, I'm sure you have an entirely different view of the current market.

I generally think arguments about sales are retarded, but I'd like you to look at this from a different point of view. Please discuss.
