Yes, but if they (players, coaches) cared so much about playing, this would be a tournament to satisfy people's hunger for hockey during the offseason, instead of potentially being the last time you get to see these guys on ice for a long time.
If they cared, it would be played on a regular basis. The last one was in 1996, before that it was in 1991 and called the Canada Cup. If they cared it would be every four years, or some other consistent schedule.
Like I was saying I don't really care who wins, because it's so hard to tell. I'll just watch for the fun of it, enjoying it as it goes along and having few expectations.
