Re: Bayonetta..
I'm sort of considering this game, but I'd like to know before I get it...how sexist is it exactly?

No more sexist than the media. Perhaps sluttier than the media.
Bayonetta is a dirty girl, and we like dirty girls... right?
I'm less than 30 minutes in, just found it too hard to concentrate on the game while I was so sleepy so had to stop.

Re: Bayonetta..
Being relatively sexist doesn't make it more acceptable.

Haha I don't really see anything wrong with it. I don't see her as sexist, more so as a very strong willed woman. I mean honestly you can compare her to every super heroine you see with less clothes sometimes haha. She's witty, a sexy accent, and wicked looking moves. Honestly compare her to catwoman. If you find catwoman sexist, then I suppose Bayonetta is sexist.
Going with bayonetta though, you rarely see any portrayal of a female lead character that isn't borderline sexist.
Storm, Rogue, Catwoman, Psylocke, Jean Grey, Wonder Woman. I mean they're not really leads, but they're pretty sexist. Scantily clad, often times accents etc. Basically if you're going to boycott Bayonetta as sexist, might as well boycott comic books, magazines, tv etc. Everything in the media is basically one big sexist go at women.

And to that extent to you can pretty much boycott all male characters. Most are in great shape, extremely witty, barely clothed and can do everything that needs to be done.

Re: Bayonetta..
Rented and beaten on 360 just recently. A pretty damn good game, definitely the definitive action game currently available. Those boss battles were incredibly awesome, I can only imagine a title like God of War 3 possibly surpassing them. The story was complete nonsense though, truly ridiculous, but still highly enjoyable.

It kinda all made sense in the end.
Especially all of Bayonetta's weird conflicts and stuff.
I also liked how basically the angels looked like demons and there was no clear concept of whether heaven was actually good and hell was actually bad, even though the game said paradiso = good and hell = bad.
And in the end, all kinds of sexy poses. Mmm.

Re: Bayonetta..
I just finished it and my opinion hasn't changed. It's still as amazing as when I first picked it up. I'm probably going to do a second playthrough on Hard now.

Gonna suggest you skim through normal mode and get all the witch hearts and moon pearls before doing hard mode. Also if you didn't pick up the whip or the kilgore get those as well. There's a pseudo-glitch with the kilgore that allows you to do massive damage.
basically on one weapons set equip whatever to your hands and the claws to your feet. (I equip claws in elec form for both as they are the fastest attack speed in the game until you get the nunchucks)
on the second weapon set equip the kilgore to your feet and whatever you want to your hands you wont be using this one for attack anyway.
Basically you do this combo which works in air and on ground, p,p,p,p,k
but inbetween punch 4 and the kick you hit lt to switch weapon sets. This glitches the animation for the claw kick into the kilgore's rocket fire it's kinda odd, but fires a bunch of rockets really fast. Once you get the hang of it you can beast the game.
The worst part about Hard mode is the claw angels, pride and glory I think. In their gold form you can't witch time off of them, and in hard mode they only throw those at you basically all the time. :s
Also in the mode after hard mode you cannot use witch time at all. It's rough going, but I just got to chapter 14 on it. Decided that tomorrow would probably be the day I finish it. The 100 point achievement is so worth it.
