Long have I been a quite active member of Nintendo forums.
It all started with my almost broken wrist. Because some bone was out of place, they had to put that hard stuff on my wrist, dunno what’s it called... something like concrete but softer

. Because it was my right wrist, I couldn’t write so I couldn’t go to school! A whole week I stayed home. We just had cable internet by then, and I convinced my mom to let me surf the internet most of the time. First I found some dead forum that I joined, but later I found the popular Nintendodolphin.net forum. I registered on May 10, 2000. Within that week I got more than 100 posts, something that must have annoyed certain people there.
Later, as we all know, the forum was changed to Nintedose.com (Nintendo claimed NintendoDolphin… making us speculate about the name of the console..

) .

Nothing important happened, but I felt comfy there. I got ‘only’ 558 posts there, as you can see
here.
One day I hadn’t been on for a few days and I wanted to check the replies of some interesting threads. Yeah you know what I wanna say. The forum was down! That really sucked big time. When was that anyway???
I never went to the two alternative forums ‘AdvanceGB’ and ‘GameTavern’. I didn’t feel like it. I looked into them, but I noticed that some members went to this one, others to that one.
It took months before I felt the need for posting again. That was in… *checks profile* May. I first went to AdvanceGB, but after 40 posts or so, I hated the layout. It just didn’t feel the same… plus I wondered where DeathsHand was. That good old crazy bastard. Although… old?? I once looked on ICQ for someone called DeathsHand. And I found a 14 or 15 year old boy.

I never figured someone younger than me could make all those cool posts. Anyway, DeathsHand occasionally visited AdvanceGB, found me and told me he was at GameTavern. So... I signed up on May 11, 2001, a year and a day after I signed up to ND.net. Now it’s almost February 2003. I almost have 5000 posts.
What makes GameTavern so great??? I think we use it as a hangout. While others go out and talk about girls or cars or whatever, we hang out on the internet, talking about games. We all love games. And where do you find the biggest gaming fans?? Not in town, not with your friends… but on the internet!
That’s why we spend so much time on the forums. And that’s really ok. Others would rather be sitting behind the TV, but we prefer this. We actually learn quite a lot... like... human relations and stuff :sneak:. And we follow the news a bit... we discuss politics, religion,... It’s not just gaming!
I really like forums. But you know, sometimes you grow out of a certain group. Like you feel you get to old or whatever for certain talk. You can’t really discuss the things you’d like to talk about. You also feel that you spend too much time on reading things that don’t really interest you. When that happens, perhaps it’s time to leave.
That time has come for me. More than a year ago I found a nice Dutch forum, with discussions that are more... Dutch perhaps.
I move on to a new stage.
I will be using the extra time for homework, religion, human relations and entertainment (I still have to finish Unfinished Tales, Heen!

).
Don’t get me wrong. I will still be following some GameCube news. And from time to time I will visit GameTavern. But not under this name. I will make me a new account and act as a newbie, but keep my post count very low. I don’t know when it will happen, perhaps next week, perhaps next year. Don’t just believe it when somebody says he’s me. The only way to proof that is showing new pictures of me. If I want you to know it’s me, I’ll do that.
As you can see, I still have 2 posts left. I will use those to reply to this thread, to type some farewells to members and stuff

.
This is it! I AM LEAVING. Goodbye.
