The Revolution
Well even before the press conference it seems like IGN has got its hand on the first image as well as some details.
http://cubemedia.ign.com/cube/image/...7010646774.jpg
This is a pic of the console.
Quote:
Revolution is "two to three times more powerful than GameCube," according to Nintendo.
The system will offer a "free Internet-based player-matching service, similar to Xbox Live." The service will also offer downloadable versions of classic Nintendo games, such as Donkey Kong and Super Mario Sunshine.

Really interested in the downloadable games.. does that mean it will have a mini-HD?

Vertical standng takes up less space. Some people like it more than horizontal (though I never use my PS2 vertical because it never works vertical). The functionability of the shape likely carries more weight than the few originality/rebel points that Nintendo would receive by not letting it stand more than one way.

So instead of stacking consoles, they can all be friends and stand side by side next gen!
altho i expect this will be the first gen that i only get 1 companies console. ah well.

Re: The Revolution
I love it. Nice and simple. The slanted base is kinda interesting. And the console actually has straight edges. Huzzah!

lol...thats funny and all but what have you seen by Nintendo? Just wait for their press conference... thats what I'm doing.
The press conference will determine whether I pick up both Rev and PS3... but if I don't see anything special... Just the PS3 for me.
X360 doesn't catch my eye anymore...
EDIT: Ok, I just saw the Revolution... and by the looks of the console I'd say Revolution is going to be it's name.
Anyway... the console looks nice and sleek, and again a slot-loading drive ... thumbs up for Sony and Nintendo in that department. Microsoft is still stuck in the drawer era.

Re: The Revolution
Yay, a disc eater!!!!
2-3 times stronger than GCN? I hope this is one of their understatements, like with the GCN specs (6-12 million polygons....).

I agree... we've seen HUGE improvements from X360 and PS3 (especially PS3... cuz PS2 just sucked in terms of graphical power)
2-3 times.... I'd say thats not going to cut it for the next-gen. But I may be wrong.

Re: The Revolution
is that supposed to be a charge station or a stand? ...... with the Cd slot lit up with no cords my guess is that the plugs go into the cradle and you can place the revolution anywhere and it transmits wirelessly through the cradle to any hook up like TV and Power.. then you recharge it overnight.

Re: The Revolution
even if it was 1.5 x more powerful than gamecube, it still looks better than perfect dark zero..
