Well going to break norm and actually post piece on my day off (since didn't post anything yesterday and doubt gonna post much this weekend)
This part is going to be made up mostly of ideas wanted to include, but forgot from original writing.
------------------------------------
The bank had vanished. The police who had remained frozen in place while the encounter between the Canadians took place had vanished. Fox recognized nothing around him.
"We are no longer in Canada, friendo!" came the familar voice from behind.
"Do you have any idea where we are?"
"No, I just came around a little before you did. No one on that team had this type of power?"
"It has been a long time since we've been friends. Maybe, they've developed like we have?"
"This is quite true." came a familar but more sinister voice.
"Dylflon!" Fox and Swan shouted in unison.
"Indeed, my half-witted friends. You see over the past few years, I have been testing the limits of my own mental capabilities. Slowly reaching new milestones. Until I came upon this little gem."
Fox and Swan both stared at Dylflon confused.
"Very well, you folks are dying anyhow. I might as well explain it to you. You see I have always been able to control people. You two know that all too well. I'm sure you remember that time I had you torture that crippled kid Fox, and how could Swan ever forget what happened to his dog. Sure, I told you I had no control over it, but deep inside I knew what I was doing. More importantly, I knew what I was having you two do. You see while we were "friends", the three of us always laughed at you two. You were like the little siblings who hung around with the cool kids. We knew you would never be on our level, but we kept you around as toys. Somehow... someway... you two were able to control your minds against my tricks. I had to find new subjects. New ways to gain some pleasure."
Fox and Swan's faces remained stoned. If Dylflon was getting to them, they hid it well.
"So you know how the story goes... mystery event there... unexplained disappearances... uncharacteristic behaviors... could all be traced back someway to The Coalition and I bet most of them would have my stamp on it. Sure, I did it for fun, but I got some revenge out of it. You remember that cheating ex-girlfriend of mine, she is now doing life in some prison for murdering the guy she broke up with me for! But, I am getting away from the point it seems. Yeah, my powers continued to evolve. I could control people longer. Break their wills a bit easier. Then came the ultimate sensation, I learned I could sense people's emotions. I could taste them. I could hear them. I could feel them. I could even smell them. And they all were just ripe for me. So I learned to mix my powers. I could sense these emotions and then I would use it to control a person. Like you two today, I sensed your grief over your friend's reappearance and I pounced on it like a lion. Now you two are mere moments from death and there is nothing you can do about it!"
"This can't be! We will survive!" Fox screamed. Dylflon only laughed at his plea.
While Fox wanted to fight, Swan had already surrendered to his fate, "Dylflon, as an old friend. Can you just answer one question for me before we die?"
"See... this man understands... and because of that and because I am so thrilled you two will be dead. I will grant you a final question."
Swan had his question prepared, "If we are not dead yet. Where are we?"
Dylflon, "We are in the collective unconscious. It is a mind barrier between our brains since I can not tap directly into anyone's mind. I bought you here."
"Thank you." Swan was content with his answer.
"What are you doing Swan? Have you given up?" Fox never felt so disappointed in his friend before.
"Me? Give up? Friendo! I just needed to know what I had to do to survive!"
"WHAT?!?!" Dylflon both shocked and hysterical shouted.
"You said it yourself. We aren't dead yet. And we are only weak because you manipulated our emotions. Well, I am about done with feeling bad for myself. I can not say the same for Fox, but I am pretty sure he agrees. So Dylflon, I will see you on the physical side!"
"NO!" But it was too late, Swan had left this plane. Dylflon quickly focused his attention on Fox, "You... you aren't like your friend. You won't let the guilt of not assisting your friend go. You would not turn your back on him again?"
Fox lowered his head, "Yeah, I won't let Combine down again! But at least, I know how to help him this time, and it does not include being defeated by some flux clones of him! And I will not disappoint Swan. I'm sorry Dylflon but your mind games are over!"
Fox turned his back on Dylflon and vanished from this plane.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dylflon returned to the bank scene.
"How'd it go?" Dyne questioned, but he did not need to wait for an answer from Dylflon. The bubble was coming apart.
Swan returned to his body where he quickly turned his body into a pail and gathered a lot of water. He then splashed The Coalition with it. "It looks like you three are washed up."
Then Fox returned to his physical form. He turned his arms and legs into giant drills and dug his way out of the water bubble.
Fox and Swan now stood tall against a wet Canadian Coalition. They assumed their fighting stance. "It ends now!"
----------------------------------------------------
Well, I don't know how this came out. And think first thing mind up with the mind plane.
