-Mouse (more so than the keyboard)
-Monitor (must we buy a new TV that doesn't have a tuner for a new console? Nope, just use your old Muli-purpose one)
-Speakers
-Internet explorer (A network connection is needed, just not the net)
-Hard Drive (Needed for PC games, but we are talking console games here)

when you buy a console. A PC is multifuntional machine. It's philosophy of being derived from workstation.
PCs are proffesional equipment geared by Microsoft to casual that don't know how to use more than 1% of it. Want to type, watch moves, browse the net?? Get Macintosh...
PC are a lot more than what you imagine.
