If anything, I wouldn't mind that. Rather than saying to me "Wow, they didn't put this in the game, what a load of chumps", I think "Wow, they're already prepared for when people beat the game and complain about a massive lack of DLC." (Even though that's not really the case right now).

But if there really is a character you need to play the game, that you need to pay extra for - that is a load of BS.

"Thanks for buying Megaman 10. To start, you'll only be able to play as ProtoMan. The download of Megaman will cost an initial $10"
The DLC is intended to be downloaded and played along with the rest of the game, on your first time through. Not beat the game then buy it.

They want you to pay $60 + $10 up front.

It's just a total lack of respect for your customer. Or at least, I feel disrespected. I've been with them for years on this series. I've bought every game in it, and I've bought most of the DLC. And this is how they treat me when the final game comes out?

What it boils down to is this: is that game worth $60? I don't think it is. It isn't worth $60 to get what I know isn't the complete game. It isn't worth $60 to tell a company I approve of this. It isn't worth $60 to feel like I'm getting cheated.

The common response is, "Oh, you're not entitled to that content, stop whining." No, I'm not entitled to it, and they aren't entitled to my money if I deem their product not worth the price they are peddling it for. The dollar value of something isn't just the sum of its features and content. How much you value the company and its practices also plays into how much value I put on a product.

It's really painful for me to say that, I love the series so much. But I'm not going to let myself be taken advantage of. There are so many fantastic games out there right now that I haven't played yet, from companies who treat their customers right. The Witcher 2 is one of them, I'll give them my money years before I give it to EA and Bioware.

I've sent bioware an email letting them know.
