It's very obviously a Metroid Prime game, but at the same time it plays more straightforward.
Travel is much better with the galactic map, and when you've completed an objective there's almost always a new shortcut to get you back on the road so you can find your next. I think a lot of people will confuse the game for being shorter than the other two Primes, but in reality I think they just cut out a lot of the time it takes for errand running. There's just less crap in the middle to split up your gameplay, which makes for a more cohesive and immersive experience.
From a technical standpoint, I think Corruption is only impressive in that it's a really good looking Wii game. The bloom lighting and improved particles/textures look good, and the locked 60 frames a second (in all but a few short-lived exceptions) are really great - but some models are still a bit blocky and there's no bump mapping in sight.
From an artistic standpoint, Corruption stands among the most impressive games I've ever played. It may in fact be my favorite game in terms of art, namely due to the shear scope it encompasses. There are so many different styles of art fully realized throughout the game.
The controls are tight and responsive. I switched to advanced mode right away (sensitivity) which tightens the dead-zone and increases look speed as your cursor gets to the outer edges of the screen. It really is much more enjoyable to play than a dual analog based setup. My only complaint at this point is a tightness in my right wrist after a few hours of non-stop play (my wrist kept cracking as I needed to pull the wii-mote back to access various panels on the walls).
At any rate, I'm loving every second of it. I'm fairly close to the end I think, so I'm gonna get back to it.
If you're on my friend list and have the game, drop me a line and I'll send you a friend voucher. If you're not on my friend list and have the game, send me a PM and I'll add you and then I'll send you a friend voucher :-p

Weird, I didn't see you as one of the active players on my list when sending out friend vouchers.
But yeah, got vouchers to give away as well.
I actually kind of like how the achievement system is also built into community since you get people on different forums making deals to get friend tokens.
And as an aside, I like that you can exchange the token for stuff.
I got me a Mii Bobblehead in my ship.
And it's decked out with bumper stickers
so my Ship is rolling deep with a Triforce on it's hood.
