Would you mind explaining how the movie only chose certain aspects of the second movie? I'm not very intimately familiar with the original movies, and couldn't really notice anything that wouldn't mesh well or anything.
Anyway, I thought it was alright. The biggest complaint I have, really, is the length, and that they didn't start over. I'd rather the series start over than try to continue only part of a 30 year old storyline. This movie just felt like Bryan Singer was trying to redo the old movie, rather than trying to create something new...
