My friend's got this nice virus...
 

that won't let him boot his PC. Everytime he wants to log in by clicking his username, his PC shuts down.

Has anyone any idea what it could be? :( We probably have to make some kind of boot disc, but I can't find anything on the internet!

Something like that was happening to me some months ago. Strangely enough, all I did was unplug my cable internet connection from the computer and the PC booted up as normal then I reconnected it. I had to do this every time I went on the computer for a while. Maybe that'll work.

I did a search for "windows boot disk" on Google and look what I found:

Anyway, your friend just needs to reinstall Windows... asuming he is running Windows that is.

If its XP, you can try repairing it. When you get to the blue screen area on the install when its booting from the XP cd, dont choose the first repair that it shows, go through steps until you see repair a second time.

Other then that, probably gonna have to reformat unless you can get into safe mode and run a virus scan.

LAMO My dads computer had the same problem. in fact I just got done (sorta) fixing it. all I did was boot into safe mode log on useing the admin and made a new profile on xp now the computer at least works. Although it still has the problem when I click on the first profile.

Maybe if you stopped downloading porn off of the internet you wouldnt be having this problem.

Real Sex, so many viruses to look out for..

Internet sex.....you can get a virus from it too..

you could try booting to the last known good restore point or something. Hold CTRL when booting up.

See if that works.

Safe mode doesn't work. Unplugging his internet doesn't work. His XP CD doesn't work.
He thinks he might need some boot disk that an anti-virus can make...
Does anyone know how to make that?

Download AVG Anti-Virus from here. When you've installed the program open it and go to Service -> Create Rescue Disk. Make sure you've updated the virus database before creating the disk. That may or may not work since you're using it on his computer.
