just wanted to revive the thread. man, i can't believe its gone! that thread was on its way to breaking the record for posts in a single thread! well, anybody got any miscellaneous lord of the ring or tolkien talk, go ahead and post it here...

lets see...hmmm....i saw the movie...twice!

and the second time i saw it...it was kinda:unsure: well...:unsure:

i couldnt believe that i still liked it as much as i did when i watched it the first time!

its an amazing movie!

and im almost half-way through the first book...i stopped reading that much after i saw the movie...but ill start reading it again sometime in the near future...after exams probably.

I finished the Hobbit a few days ago. Got a 100 on my book report :). I'm in the process of starting the Fellowship of the Ring.

Ah I can finally post in this since I finally finished the series. Um yay?

I'm on the third chapter in The Return of the King.

You mean it didn't set the record three or four months ago when it got 300 posts?!?

Um...I can't wait for the next movie...although it's highly overrated at IMDB.

It is. The Part 2 saga continues part refers to that 20 something page topic before this one...

Hmmm... Could a mod perhaps change the name of the thread to 'The Lord of the Rings'?? Sounds a lot better :unsure:

Well, Ive read the first book, and Ive barly started the second. My attention span is to short to read this. Every sic months or so I come back and read some.

I saw the movie, and its right up there with the matrix in my sic-O-meter. One of, if not the favourite movie of mine.

Wow, I posted this thread back in the GT's new server days. This was even before the movie came out? Maybe shortyly after. What were you doing reading threads this old? What was I thinking with that title:unsure:

And after recieving the 4 LOTR books for christmas, I am finally just starting to read the Hobbit a few weeks ago...im over halfway though I think...they have just entered the big lake, and bilbo was taking the dwarphs out of their buckets in the lake...Im liking it more that I thought actually...I didnt like the first movie all that much...

HoME is quite boring... as a novel.

Yeah that's why I said that it's boring FOR A NOVEL. But it's not so... :) You should only read it if you're really interested in Tolkien.

But I haven't read it yet. Still working on UT. :D

But TTT will boost my reading rate for UT.

I finished the Hobbit. Twas pretty good...Im starting on the Fellowship of the Ring now...*shurugs*

Tis very long...a lot longer than the hobbit.

Yeah, I read The Lord of the Rings stuff a few years back. It wasn't bad, I guess. I don't really like to read fantasy books. The movie was alright. It wasn't as incredible as everyone makes it out to be, but it was...nice. Overall, a pretty mediocre experience, though. Honestly it isn't even my favorite Peter Jackson film. Dead Alive was much better. Great mixture of comedy and extreme violence :) I don't know, maybe the reason I didn't like The Lord of the Rings movie much is because I don't like to watch fantasies, either. Except for The Wizard of Oz, of course.
