Sales will HAVE TO drop sometime... |

PS2 to Gamecube sales in NA are like 3 or 4:1 or maybe more PS2 to Gamecube sales in Japan have been closer over the last few months...2:1, 1.5:1...and now, 1.1:1 or so |
OK, the PS2's Line-up this year sucks, plain and simple, I hate to say it, but FFX and Kingdom Hearts were the only "GOOD" PS2 Exclusives, and since FFX-2 isn't coming out until next yea don't expect anything spectacular, FFXI didn't make it to the USA yet, and that's hurting Sony big time.
Now the GCN, while the Line-UP wasn't as good as it could've been at the begging of the year (Star Fox Adventures was TOO LONG in the works), the GCN gmaes out now are much better in terms of sales than the earlier ones, and the GBA Conectivity is helpign the big "N" alot, GTA: Vice Cit loks pretrty crappy IMO, and is almost as "annopying' as the "new look" of link, so you can guess what I'm NOT buying for the PS2. I'll get Zelda jsut for the heck of it. Also Sega released the "Sonic Mega Colection" for ther GCN so that's HUGE sales boost as an exclusive right there, thern you've got, Metroid Prime, Super Mario Sunshine, Zelda, Star Fox Adventures, and a bunch fo tohrer GCN Gmaes comign out ths year, so you can expect them to boost sales, tack on the GBA Poke'mon games, Metroid Prime, and everything else, and Q3 and Q54 wil be excelelnt for GCN in 2002. I'd say the PS2 is getting a rtun for its' money, but I odn't know the outcome yet. Thisis basically how I've rated the SYstems: PS2: Started out good in 2000, good games are availabe everywhere with backwards comp[atibily, from the PSX, but the system falls short of 4 Player compatibilty, and some really good would-be exclusives, the christmas seaosn looks pretty bad for the PS2 with only GTA: Vice Cirty, and a few third party games backing it that are also on other systems (How many copies of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, Harry Potter and 007 NightFire do you need?) so there's no real "need' to buy a PS2. Rating : 3.5 out of 5.0. Nintendo GameCube: A Great system that was a year late in the US, the first games of this year weren't too hot, mostly what the PS2 is churning ut now as 3rd party games, but the GCN had one thing the PS2 didnt: GREAT EXCLUSIVES! LUigi's Mansiomn was even good for aVaccume Cleaner SImulator. IN Q3 and Q4 the GCN has gotten some amazing 1st party and 3rd party games as well as the regular 3rd party all-system games like MK: DA, HP & The Chamber of Secrets, and 007 NIghtfire, as well as the GameCube-Only agmes like RE and SMS. The GBA conectivity is helping the GCN and the system is growing in popularity. Rating: 4.2 out of 5.0 XBox: I don't know what to sa, excpet don'rt even bother, the only semi-appleaing games on this system are Halo, which is coming out n the PC, and "Dead Or Alive: Vollyball" which is basically a game that falls unde the category of "If you want P*rn, by a playboy magazine" and isn't all that appealing unless you're THAT desperate. The "other" games are all PC or PS2 and/or GCN bound from the XBox and the system ins't worht its weight in plastic, plsu the ugly controllers form the first releases are only slightly worse than the GCN controlers D-Pad positoning, and feel like you're playing by holding a pile of rocks instead ofa game controller. The ystems is uanorigianl and runs ona dumed down version of M$ Windows, so you can imagine what that's like, how many Blue Screens do you want your game system to have? I have yet to see an XBox game that mkaes me say "Gee I REALLY want that system!", and the fact that the XBox is known to damage several rental DVDs is ebnought to mark it "Avoid" for people thinking of dropping $40.0 on the ugly XBox rem,ote control to play DVDs while the PS2 is DVD-Ready. Rating: 1.6 out of 5.0 So my systems in favoired order are: GCN, PS2, XBX. I think you can safely say the Xbox isdead, pretty soon it'll be up there with the dremcast as the game system that failed as crap from a ppor launch, pathetic, and sadly the DC actually was much better than the Xbox. |
A lot of people are going to be responding to your post Cyrax
in a nice little negative way :p Frankly, it's 2 AM and I'm too tired :p |
with a wide selection of 2 must own games from the same old series', Gamecube is a must own.
PS2 isn't that great of an addition to your collection unless you like having a wide variety of good games. Xbox is as good as dead because it's been selling nice in the US and has a few very nice looking games coming out in the future. Sorry, I couldn't help myself... |
Cyrax that is soooo fanboyish!
|
Sorry Cyrax9 but your wrong about Xbox! It has plenty of really good games out for it like at lest it has a really rally game to play on it two in fact (well at lest it has driving games on it!). Yet people still seem to think it has no good games yet it has almost some thing for every one on it. Now I don’t know what people’s problem is with the Xbox maybe they don’t like Microsoft (let’s face it’s that’s stupid Nintendo is just as evil as Sony or Microsoft). Or maybe it is all down to being fanboy’ish or maybe it because so people are so ignorant to what is going on around them they just don’t want to see how good Microsoft and Xbox has shaped up in a year.
I don’t know why there are so many haters out there and there seems to be two groups of people appearing on gaming forums all over the net; The Gamers and the haters! |
