Oh, sorry if you misunderstood my post. My post was in reaction to the seeming huge support for Maven to be pushed all to high hell with almost no experience.

I don't think he's getting pushed at all. He's paying his dues.

I don't care HOW WELL TRAINED YOU ARE... that spot with the chair to the throat has to hurt like all get out. And Maven took it like a man.

It mnakes for a good story line though. He's inexperienced and gets his ass whooped, but yet he never gives up.

OH MY! Maybe the WWF is actually going to develop Maven SLOWLY. Wouldn't that be nice for a change... :D

I am still surprised that Undertaker let Maven beat him in the Royal Rumble. Maybe UT doesn't have a huge ego like some other people in the WWF.

The Undertaker didn't have a problem with it because of how his exit was booked. He didn't lose any face and he managed to bury another young talent, so I'm sure he was giddy.

The Undertaker NOTORIOUS for his love of not selling anyone's moves. I mean, when was the last time he jobbed CLEANLY to another wrestler on TV or PPV? I can't think of it.

With this in mind, I think he is being perfectly booked now. His no selling doesn't really affect anyone too badly as long as he stays out of the title picture.

Heh, it's so true.

My favorite matches of all time:

10) Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs Ted DiBiase
Coal Miners Glove on a Pole Tuxedo Cage Match...
Hacksaw wins. Nuff Said

9) Pat Patterson vs Sgt. Slaughter
Boot Camp Match. Viscious beatings all around. Slaughter blades while flying through the air and spouts a gusher. How he did that looks amazing. i have rewound that part of the match at leat 30 times. Patterson wins when the Grand Wizard (ah, remember managers?) throws in the towel when Slaughter won't stay down after being beaten bloddy with a cowboy boot.

8) "Dr. Death" Steve Williams vs. Kenta Kobashi
AJPW Triple Crown Match. The good Dr. is in his prime and Kobashi WORKED HIS NUTS OFF! The Dangerous Backdrop by Dr. Death is truly a sight to behold, and Kobashi takes 3 of them. How he is still alive I'll never know. Williams retains title, but Kobashi is elevated with his tough showing.

7) "Dr. Death" Steve Williams vs. Toshiaki Kawada
AJPW Triple Crown Match. "Dr. Death" drops the title in this classic. The action goes back and forth until Kawada puts him down with a sick series of strikes to the head. Steve William swas truly in his prime in these 2 matches and during his title run. The WWF WASTED HIM!

6) Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant
Wrestlemania 3. You know it, you love it. This was truly the leg drop heard round the world. the work in the match wasn't great by any means, but you can't blame Hogan or Andre, they both worked very hard and Andre had been going downhill for quite sometime by the time of that match. But the crowd ws aelectric and I was a kid, so of course I loved it :D

5) Chris Benoit vs. Steven Regal
Brian Pillman Memorial Show 2000. A technical wrestling fans wet dream. Chain wrestling at its finest. Get the tape.

4) Mitsuharu Misawa vs. Toshiaki Kawada
1994, but really, just pick any one of their great matches and put it here. Personally I believe they had the single greatest feud in wrestling history. Considering it lasted nearly a decade, well, its hard to argue. So which is more devastating? Kawada's jumping round kick, or Misawa's roaring elbow? You watch and decide.

3) "Macho Man" Randy Savage vs. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat
Wrestlemania 3. Intercontinental Championship. HOLY NEARFALLS, BATMAN! This match is as fast and intense as it gets. My only problem is that they had to use George "The Animal" Steele to screw Savage to give Steamboat the title. BLECH.

2) Flair vs. Steamboat
New Orleans for the NWA Championship. This is what wrestling was meant to be. 2 great wrestlers in their prime. No screw job ending. No foreign objects. Just a great great wrestling match.

1) Antonio Inoki, Toshiaki Fujiwara, Keiji Muto, and two other dudes vs. Tatsumi Fujinami, Riki Chosu, Super Strong Machine (?), Akira Maeda, and some other dude.
10 man elimination tag match. Sorry about the names, but this match poopped up unexpectedly on one of my tapes, and it is a pleasant surprise to say the least. Opens up fast as lightning and then slows to some excellent ring psychology. Keiji Muto (The Great Muta) is SO young in this match, but he makes a great showing. So many stories are told in this match that I would need another thread to tell them. My favorite match of all time, hands down.
