Re: I feel old now...

Wow, I did a Google search for "nintendodolphin.net" and this old thread is the first listed. I had forgotten about this name I used before switching to manasecret. I think I switched because I realized how much of a douche name thehtownpoption was, back from my junior high wigger days. Ah gods what embarrassing memories.

Going to drop some names:
GameKinG
The_Dunadan
D-realJos
LoudHowardZERO

Ha, and guess who I got a private message from?? Hint: it's name is Patricia.

I also think it's strange that you and I have some of the fewest posts while being two of the longest community members. Were you in Turkey the whole time, btw?

I always think about that too - and I sometimes even feel that I'm posting too much. But when I sit down and think (and yes, I've sat down and thought about this :)), I'm usually a quiet person who likes to observe and listen (or let my mind wander and try to find some nice looking girls around :)), and therefore, my character affects my post count directly. :)

And yes, I've been in Turkey the whole time.

I'm old as well. Joined here on 9/10/2001, day before the terrorist attacks. I also remember nintendolphin.net and having to change the name to Nintendose. I'm not sure exactly when I joined nintendolphin. I know it was when I was looking for information on the then next-gen consoles and yahoo'd it. I was a Playstation fanboy at the time. I thought Microsoft was the worst thing that could ever happen to gaming. My how times have changed.

I joined GT on 4/16/2001. I remember I came over from Nintendose, one day I visited and found out they were shutting it down. I talked to someone on AIM I believe, and got the story about the AGB vs. GT thing. I picked GT for no other reason than it sounded better. And here I am today...

I wonder how many posts Deathshand would have if like half our posts hadnt got deleted a few years ago?

I also found this thread about the first ever Survivor: http://www.gametavern.net/forums/arc...x.php/t-6.html

Jeepnut, since when do you go to Michigan? That's awesome, what are you studying?

I might have to put a 'Wisconsin' banner in my profile soon... ;)

I joined NDose around November/December 2000 (I was 13)... then moved to GT. I also lurked around AGB but I just stuck here. Now here we are... and I am 20 years old. Weird

And as Germy (or was it Haas the Spinto?) said, I'll probably hang around til this place is dead.

Joined Nintendose in May 2000, which must have been the launch month, because I had joined Nintendodolphin.net before that.

I've quit a few times, but I keep coming back.

"Going from a forum focused on home console gaming to one focused on a hand-held? Poppycock!", I said...

AGB was run by Jordan (Goombastomper) and some other douche, Vincent. The GBA was awesome, it made up for the Gamecube's averageness :p

I didn't hate coming to Gametavern...it was just daunting because this board at one point was getting over 100 posts a day, and that's a lot of stuff to read. AGB had a smaller more liberal community, kinda like this place is now. Either way, it's all good.

Forums...a true testament to how much of a nerd you can be.
