Ok in this thread we don't post any spoilers about the movie. :D

I'm going to see it next thursday, 20:30. :D:D Can't wait!
I would have seen it on wednesday if the cinema would have had it by then. But no... I'll have to wait a day.

On wednesday and thursday me and some friends are going to see the extended DVDs of TFotR and TTT.

So when are you gonna see it????

I'll be seeing it the first showing on Wednesday. Stupid theatre not having a midnight showing the night before. I'll be in line with my friends hopefully at 1 or 2 am Wednesday. Stupid theatre, not selling advanced tickets. We get to buy tickets at noon then wait until the first showing at 4pm.

Screw my calculus final! lol.

I'm really DYING to see it, I hear it's the best part yet! But I knew it would be! :D:D

I would mention with a spoiler alert how big the final battle is supposed to be, but if you have the TT Extended DVD or was it the original theatrical version (first dvd to come out with TT on it), Peter Jackson mentions how large the final battle will be. And when he said the amount and compared it to the size of Helm's Deep battle, all I can say is RotK will have one helluva battle that won't be forgotten. (Wednesday is so far away :baby::p)

Well, in our newspaper they gave it an A, and rottentomatoes.com has it currently rated at 98%. I really can't wait! I need to see The Two Towers before this weekend though! I haven't seen it yet.

I just got back from seeing it (my dad switched with someone at work so we could go on opening day) and it was awesome! The only part of the movie I found even slightly disappointing was the Battle of Minas Tirith. You may have heard that its a gigantic battle that completely blows Helm's Deep away, but I didn't think so. It was neat, but the main characters were harldy in it and it was relatively short when compared to Helm's Deep. The scene with the Witch King was awesome though ^_^

This the a very worthy ending to one of the greatest movie trilogies of all time.

I'm going to see it again tomorrow ^_^

yeah, i saw it at the midnight showing, it was awesome! I love the editing, way better editing that two. I still didn't like it as much as the first one, but the effects were better. The battle of pelennor fields was astounding. Very amazing, very impressive. Although I thought the ending to the battle was kind of strange and unforseen, but the whole movie is probably the best movie of the year.

whats with the 4-5 scenes that were in the trailer that were not in the movie????

-merry saying "we will see the shire again"
-eomere holding someone yelling
-elrond saying "you gave away your life's grace, i can no longer help you"
-merry kneeling in front of eomere

and so on and so forth, that is the thing that angers me, when they do things like that to you.....

I havnt seen RotK yet, but Ive noticed that they do this in other movies, as well. And it really upsets me. Why do they put things in the commercials/trialers that arent even going to be in the movie?

Remember, there's still the Extended DVD;) So you'll more then likely see those scenes back in the movie.

I saw RotK last night. Great movie. I would ask something that confused me, but I'll just make a seperate thread since it is a spoiler.:)

I went to see the first showing yesterday. It was extremely packed, there were people wearing costumes (even though they weren't even from the movie, it was just like crappy capes and other pointless attire that just makes you look stupid). Also, when we were coming out of the theatre, there was a news reporter with a camera interviewing people on their thoughts of the movie.

Anyway, the movie was incredibly awesome. If you count the trilogy as one big movie, then I'd say it's the best movie of all time.

I'd say the same thing, man what an awesome thing PJ has done with this.....the best thing is Peter Jackson looks like an everyday joe, and seems nice unlike some of these other directors. (george lucas seems like an ASS) Matter of fact, everyone in the cast seems like a very nice person in the special features, like someone you could easily be friends with!

Its possible that the people who make up the trailers and such are given earlier versions of the film; less edited than the theatrical version. Thus, when they made the trailers they didn't know that some footage was cut out.

I would also like to point out that in a commercial, Gandalf asks Aragorn, "How do we know Frodo is still alive?" and Aragorn answers, "What does your heart tell you?"

In the movie, Gandalf asks something different... I forget what though...

thats an easy one, it WAS there in the movie. look again.
Trailers have always taking parts of sentences and put them in with others to make them seam somewhat differnt.

in the movie Aragon says 'every day frodo moves closer to mordor', then gandalf says 'how do we know?' Aragon: 'what does your heart tell you?' Gandalf: 'that frodo is still alive.'

its in there, because thats one of the parts of the trailer that i always remembered, so i was waiting for it in that sceen, but i cough every word that was in the trailer, the movie wasnt edited, the ppl who make the trailers edit thoes.
