Damn me for not being more specific. I meant which state do they live in.

Most likely Springfield Massachusetts or Ohio.

I remember seeing the Behind the Simpsons episode that came out like two years ago....and they said at the end that The Simpsons lived in Kentucky. I'm pretty sure that that was the state that was said, but I don't remember entirely.

I've heard them mention a few times that they do live in Missouri, but there have been a few episodes that contradict that. The one with the hurricane did.

That reminds me....I also watched the Behind the Simpsons episode a second time, and I remember it said they lived in one of the states that starts with the letter "M", but I can't remember which one they said. Missouri sounds right, but I don't know. I bet that if it's true that I heard them say two different states, when I watched the episode two times, then they probably did something to the episode...or maybe I'm just imagining things.

Yea.

some of the time the behind the laughter episode says Missouri but sometimes it says Kentucky.

Here are the states where the simpsons do not live in and why:

1. Rhode Island -- Because Moe's Liquor licence is only good in Rhode Island
2. Texas -- Because no jury in the world would convict a baby... Well, maybe Texas.
3. Florida -- Because Florida is America's wang.
4. Missouri -- Springfield Elementary was voted to be the most delapatated in all of Missouri. Then moved to its current location brick by brick
5. Utah -- Because when Bart got caught for the Big Butt Skinner weather balloon, he wanted to race Milhouse there.
6. Massachusettes-- Because Homer once said "Go back to Massachusetts, you communist."
7. Mississippi -- In the episode when the Simpsons were visited by Sherry Bobbins, Principal Skinner was selling Jimbo on the street. Jimbo asked if it was even legal, and Skinner replied "Here, and in Mississippi."
8. Delaware -- "The Simpsons are going to Delaware" -- Homer
9. California-- There is no Springfield in California
10. Pennsylvania-- While talking about Pennsylvania, Homer says "Pennsylvania" it in a creepy voice.
11. Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, New York, Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, Alabama, Wisconson, Kentucky, Tennessee -- KBBL is the springfield radio station. Radio stations that begin with K are West of the Mississippi river, W are East of the Mississippi river, C are Canada, and X are Mexico. Therefore the simpsons must live in the west half of the country
12. Arizona -- Because Arizona smells funny
13. New Mexico -- "There's a NEW Mexico?" -C.M. Burns
14. South Dakota -- Because Mt. Rushmore is in South Dakota
15. North Dakota -- "North Dakota here we come!"
16. Arkansas, Louisianna -- In the episode where the simpsons were discussing the fact that their state flag is inappropriate, it is mentioned that they are a "Northern State"

17. Alaska and Hawaii because the Simpsons wanted to fly to these two locations.

Here's what remains.

Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Kansas, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Arkansas, and Louisianna

IOWA.. no one in there right mind lives in Iowa. to prove my point. jonbo, jewels, duffman, ominub, and I live in Iowa and were far from sane. that and were too old fashion for a nucular power plant.

Yea.

Behind the Laughter....damn I can't believe I forgot about that.

Also, what about Michigan, Wisconsin, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Oklahoma, and Colorado? Those are also ones that weren't mentioned, but the thing that Happydude posted eliminates Michigan and Wisconsin because they are east of the Mississippi River.

It has to be a state that's by the ocean.

Well any state by the ocean is already eliminated, it could be Michigan, the Great Lakes border it.

The Germanator

Umm, I think Matt Groening and company are chuckling right now because they want kids like us to worry about such a trivial matter...They may have never intended to give them a state.

Washington and Oregon are both options. And, the only options left because springfield has a fairly large seaport and there's a lot of episodes with the water. The one when maggie saves homer from drowning. The casino episode. THere's lots.

Oregon or Washinton.

Wow, you guys are losers.

It's just a show... Who the hell cares where they live? There are probably so many contradictions that it will end up that they cannot live in any of the states.

Maybe when the final episode airs, they will clear this up. (Isn't the contract up in 2005?)

I hope they stop making new episodes of the Simpsons. I love the show but the new episodes have sucked SO bad.

Seth
09-13-2003, 01:42 PM
I think I watched one episode from the last season. They've run out of ideas and the show just isn't that funny anymore. TV series can only last so long before the material starts to suck.

the 13th season should have been the last and Futurama taken over the simpsons spot.

The Germanator
09-13-2003, 01:49 PM
Nah, Family Guy should have taken it's place. Those bastards at Fox should have never cancelled it. Oh well, I have all the DVD's now...

And Futurama is a sweet show. I didn't like it when they started it, but now I love it.

Ok... Then I think I will go ahead and spend the 100 dollars to get all three seasons! It's such a great show.

They also show Futurama at 2pm, and Family Guy and 230pm on TBS.

I remember in one episode, Marge is talking on the phone, and she begins to tell someone their address...

"blah blah springfield, OH-Hi *forgets flanders wife's name*

But with flanders wife's actually in there...what happens is flanders wife walks in the room just as she's about to read the state....but the way it is worded, it sounds like Ohio. And there is a springfield Ohio, I have actually been by it on the interstate. I believe they live in Springfield Ohio, but nobody's ever flat out said that.

The Germanator
09-13-2003, 09:11 PM
Well that's precisely the joke Jason...Just when you think they are going to reveal the state, they trick you making it in to a clever pun. Matt Groening is ****ing with you all.

Yea, and what I think they did there is reavealed the state without revealing the state, if you get my drift. You probably dont. They told people the state, without flat out telling people the state, that way they could still deny it later on down the rode if they have to.

The Germanator
09-13-2003, 09:19 PM
I get your drift, but the fact that they do this "fake state revealing" quite consistently, then it seems to me that this one is just another one of those instances.

Kitana85
09-14-2003, 09:11 AM
Actually, it HAS GOT to be either Washington State or Oregon. There was an episode where they were deporting immigrants who didn't meet certain guidelines DIRECTLY OUT OF SPRINGFIELD BY BOAT. This means it needs to be in a state that borders an Ocean, and since we know that its west of the Mississippi, and isn't Ca, that onyl leaves Wa and Or.

I think they could possibly be in Springfield Missouri. The keep mentioning places near it like St. Louis and they drop hints and stuff. I dunno, but I wouldnt be surprised if it was there. I think there is a Shelbeville in Missouri too, near there.

A better question would be how many Shelbyvilles are there?

Tennessee (http://www.shelbyvilletn.org)

Illinois (http://www.shelbyville-il.net)

Kentucky (http://www.shelbyvillekentucky.com)

Indiana (http://www.cityofshelbyvillein.com)

Texas(it's a real small town here) (http://www.co.shelby.tx.us)

There are also Shelby Counties in Alabama, Iowa, and Ohio.
Got their names from General Isaac Shelby(1750-1826) of Kentucky.

Joeiss, Seasons 1 and 2 of Family Guy on DVD are together in the first volume, so it won't cost 100 bucks for all 3 seasons, all you gotta do is buy 2 volumes.

And in case anyone didn't know, A family Guy movie is in production and set to be ready in about a year in a half according to Seth McFarland.

I have not been able to find any proof of this. Seth could have been joking. You can't take what he says and make it out to be a fact. I highly doubt there will be a family guy movie.
