My goodness! It's turning out to be quite the finish for the national league wild card race with SEVEN (8 if you include Houston, but one of those central teams will win the division...) teams within 2.5 games of eachother for that playoff spot. Here are the current standings...
Florida---------83-67---------0 games back
Philadelphia----------83-68---------.5 games back
Los Angeles---------80-69---------2.5 games back
Chicago---------81-70---------2.5 games back
Arizona--------78-73---------5.5 games back
St Louis--------78-74---------6 games back
Montreal---------77-75---------7 games back
Marlins take the lead.
Well, vote for who you think will win please. Word up.

Zona'
The dodgers have no offense, The Central teams are going to knock each other out of the wild card race. Flordia doesn't have enough pitching and I just don't think the Phillies are goning to do it, but I'm not going to say they won't do it.
I also picked zona at the beginning of the season, so I'm sticking with it. :)

Check your number there bud. You said STL was 2 games back yesterday, when in reality they were tied for first, and now they are 1 game back after losing to the Cubs last night(it wont happen again). And there cubs were .5 games out, and after winning, are still .5 games out. I think STL win win the Central Division, and Los Angelse will win Wild Card.

What are you talking about? Those standings are perfectly correct, check them yourself. You must be confusing it with the central division race, I'm talking about only the wild card race here. The "games back" column refers to the number of games back in the wild card, not in their own division.

He's a cardinal fan.

Yea I was thinking of the Central Division Race. Sue me. The cardinals took 2 out of 3 from the Cubs, going 6-3 on the homestand. And they're just heating up.

Did anyone else see the Phillies choke against the Red Sox yesterday?
This team is sinking faster than the Titanic.

The National League wildcare race and NL central races are jokes. None of those teams will beat either San Francisco or Atlanta. But Philly will take the wildcare regardless in my mind.

I'm a Phillies fan, but I don't think that any of the teams in the wildcard race even deserve to go to the playoffs as a wildcard. They all are barely over .500, and well...none of them have been that great this year. I don't really care who wins it, because all I care about is that the Mariners make it to the playoffs....and it doesn't look like things are going too well.

I'd simply like to know why the expos are the current faves?

Well, they were pretty hot for awhile when they swept the Phillies and got a tie for the wild card lead, and that was around when I made this poll...But since then they lost 6 in a row to the Marlins and Phillies which puts them in this situation now, obviously they still have a shot, but I don't think they'll do it.

Lots of canucks on the boards.
I'd like to know where the hell they'd play their playoff games.

The Phillies beat the Marlins 5 to 4 today, so they're 0.5 games back from the Marlins now!

The Phillies and Marlins have one last series together...and it will probably decide who gets the wildcard. I forget who each of them play after that series is over though.
And that deleted post of mine wasn't a double post after all, I just saw my name twice...since I'm posting two messages in a row...just a few days apart...lol

After the Marlins beat the Phils once again, the wildcard race is all but over. Only one kind soul voted for the Marlins in this poll though...

I guess I'm the one who voted for the Marlins since there's an asterisk by it and I already voted. It's almost done now. That was just a lovely sweep.
Coin flip for the last spot in the Central now between Chicago and Houston. Doesn't really matter because that'll be a 1st round beatdown for whichever one steps in the postseason.

Yes, because Zombrano/Prior/Wood/Clement/Zambrano in 5 games is just going to be a ****ing cakewalk

I forgot. That's why they're breaking the Mariners record for most wins in a season.

No, the reason they're NOT breaking the marinners record for wins in a sesason is because they don't have nearly the amount of offense that, that team had. The Cubs O' is inconsistant.
But in the playoffs, most games are 2-1 3-2 etc, which is why the Cubs could (though most likely won't) go all the way, should they make it in. It's the best pitching in the NL, you could make a case for Oakland in the AL, possibly the yankees too.

So the Philles said goodbye to Veterans Stadium today, appropriately with a loss to the Braves, a team that's won the east 12 times in a row...It's a sad moment for all Philly fans. R.I.P Vet :(
