Well this is from Gamers.com who I guess are now uploading the 7 screens. More info will be revealed once the EGM hit newsstands.

Exactly one thing about Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike--the laser-hot GameCube-exclusive sequel to Cube-launch hit Rogue Leader--will not surprise you: When the game zips from hyperspace this fall, it'll pack a level on Hoth, the tundra-topped planetoid that has served as a seemingly Constitutionally mandated locale in nearly every Star Wars game set in the classic trilogy. "I can't remember how many times we've gone there," says Julian Eggebrecht, president of Rogue series developer Factor 5. "To quote the guys in the meetings at LucasArts [Rebel Strike's publisher and co-developer]: 'Are you nuts? You want to go to Hoth again?'"
But Factor 5 didn't return to the ice world just out of habit, and we guarantee Rebel Strike will have you doing things on Hoth that you've never done in a Star Wars game before. You'll just have to pick up the June issue of EGM--which hits newsstands May 6 (subscribers get it this week)--to see how Factor 5 has re-written the rules of the Rogue Squadron games.

Meanwhile, you'll find several hints in the seven exclusive screens presented here. For starters, it looks like players can now exit their vehicles, eh? And when they're not blasting stormtroopers in third-person levels, players will hop aboard everything in the Star Wars trilogy that moves--from whizzing speederbikes to chicken-walking AT-STs to ponderous TIE Bombers (which fire multiple lock-on missiles Panzer Dragoon-style). But the ultimate surprise: Expect the most souped-up two-player cooperative mode ever. Let's just say that once you play Rebel Strike's cooperative campaign with a pal, you might consider selling your used copy of Rogue Leader. You won't need it.

Enough with your Jedi mind tricks--we're not revealing any more info. You'll just have to pick up the June EGM for all the exclusive details and nearly 40 screens you won't find anywhere. Oh, and come back here in mid-May for a spectacular two-minute gameplay movie that'll rule the galaxy.

Sounds like a Rip off of Halo.. jk ;)

Away from the vehicles will it be in 3rd or first person? Also, will there still be huge flight missions, or some type of overworld or somthing?

Hot damn.. something before E3! Looks kind of good, but I don't think it does justice if it's not in action. That's why I think people are going to have a hard time expressing themselves about games next gen, because everything will be such a step up, and it's almost mandatory you see it in action.

I think it looks good.... but not better than RL. Just the same.

Soem things are disappointing. Hoth again is kind of lame. But since now that you can play things outside of the vehicles, it looks like it might be fun...again....

The Death Star thing is bad too. Except for a few different things with the HUD, I would swear those two pictures were from RL. I really wonder how they're going to make the battle outside the Death Star fun...

The speeder bike on Endor looks like it could be fun... except it looks like an alley of trees. Just follow the corridor and dodge a few stray trees until the level is over. I hope its not like that.

I can't wait to see how the levels outside the vehicles are handled. Hopefully better than they were in Clone Wars. And is it just me, or does tht stormtrooper on the right look like he's crapping in his armor or something?

The pic with the X-Wing and all those TIEs looks promising. I wonder where that's from...

Hah the graphics do look just like rogue leader... I guess that's not bad though...

The speeder level better not be too hard... I remember there was a speeder level in some other star wars game (I think maybe one of the rebel assault games) that was like the most frustrating thing ever...

Co-op should be fun though, and the out of cockpit stuff could be neat... Or it could suck...

As for selling that used copy of Rogue Leader? Done and dunner...

OH SWEET JESUS.

The only reason I bought a cube back in 01' was RSII, I Can't wait.

Though I must admit, the third person stuff is a bit disheartening, I hope it's not much, I dont want another Shadows of the Empire.

I remember reading the preview for the next EGM that said that there will be new ways to take down an AT-AT. From the look of one of the screens, that must be one of the ways. I hope they push the 'Cube almost to the limits now that they have had a good amount of time to find out the little things it can do. 2 player Co-Op sounds fun.

Ditto, the reason RS is RS is because of the great vehicle combat. I mean, it could be nice to have a little bit of third-person ground combat, but if it's too much it'll just turn inot another Shadows of the Empire. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against SotE, but I want my RS.

But in the end I guess I don't really care, I'll end up buying it anyway.:D

Character models have been created perfectly. Han Solo looks great. You will be able to play as Luke Skywalker in every varioation from farm-boy Luke to Jedi.

-Control an AT-ST through the forest in Endor, shoot the enemy and command your Ewok troops.

-Just about every scene from the Star Wars classic trilogy, including those famous lightsabre battles.

-Death star bonus level, where after you freeze Leia, you fall into the trash compactor (as the movie goes), and you gotta solve a jumping puzzle. Then when you have escpaed, you go into first person view and use your grappling hook (a la Zelda) and swing across, to "recreate fantasy".

-It won't rehash ANYTHING from RS2. E.g. you won't blow up the Death Star, and you won't tangle AT-AT's with a rope and speeders.

-HOWEVER, every single mission from Rogue Leader (including bonus missions) will be available to play in a multiplayer co-op mode.

-Speederbike missions through forest recreated. You can be on foot and hit the enemy on speederbike with your lightsabre at one point in the game.

-Landspeeder racing on Tatooine.

-Near DVD quality footage from the original Star Wars trilogy to intro/outro scenes.

-There will be a mission on Geonosis from Episode 2. The picture looks beautiful.

-Versus multiplayer mode (dogfights), and "capture the base" mode. This will be for at least two, and possibly four players.

-Kamikaze A-wing attack on a Super Star Destroyer. If you're good enough you can do it without comminiting suicide, or hit the SSD bridge.

Ya, it looks a lot like rouge leader, but I was expecting that. As long as I get some new levels that are fun, I'll be happy. The 3rd person stuff could be fun too.

Looks nice, but methinks they should have stuck to flight only.

As for Co-op, I say do the same link thing they did with Mario Kart and have 4-8 players on a team at once.

Damn, CAN'T WAIT!

Is it true all the original and bonus missions from RL will be present in RS3 for co-op?

Damn, and the free roaming (of sorts) sounds bloody cool, you can rid anything that moves!

And I'm sure I read a minute ago that RS2 will be running at 20 millino poly's per second, with environments up to 16x more detailed than in RL.

I have to see this in motion!

I absolutely loved the Star wars games on the SNES, here's to hoping!

OMG, I know there's more to a game than visuals, but boy I haven't been this impressed ever. I wonder what it looks like in motion?

This game looks leaps and bounds better than RL, and is also shaping up to be a whole lot better better and more deeper.

Look at the fur on Chewy .

I wonder how much more they can juice the game up.

I was also pretty surprised by this statement:

We can do more Star Wars game with the same energy we had for Rogue Leader

I think Rogue Leader was using just around 60% of the Cube's power. Does anyone remember Julian Eggebrecht saying that?

I just hope the game plays atleast half as good as it looks.

Oh yeh, I think you left this out:

Well if anyone needed further proof that nintendo isn't trying hard enough on their own games I think Factor 5 just settled it once and for all. These are damn near xbox impressive shots. There is absolutly no excuse for every game developed specificly for Gamecube not to look this good.

And WOO it looks like the bespen level is back!

To me, the first look of this game looks better than almost any Xbox title...definately amongst the best the Box has to offer

I really wish I had a Gamecube for this title (if they pull everything off properly), although the whole Star Wars universe is getting more stale by the year (for me). I wish Factor 5 would try their hand at a new, original franchise.

What does everyone think about the idea of being able to ride anything 'ridable' in the middle of a level?

(I think that's what I read?).

Yeah, but you've got to compare it to the best and that still doesn't look as good as halo, deathrow, rallisport or a few other games.

For those needing something to pass there time:

-Kamikaze A-wing attack on a Super Star Destroyer. If you're good enough you can do it without comminiting suicide, or hit the SSD bridge.

-Can split up goals in multiplayer.

-Souped up graphics in RSII multiplayer levels.

-2 story lines, luke and wedge, with totally differant levels.

-TONS of hidden levels.

-There are two seperate campaigns. One for Luke, and one for Wedge. You choose after the first mission.

-As you follow these shuttles above the ground and into orbit, you can turn tail and drop back into the atmosphere at any time to find the surface battle still raging.

I don't know if the co-op is available in the new missions. But we know for sure they are in all of the missions/bonus missions included from RL:RS2.

Yeah, but you've got to compare it to the best and that still doesn't look as good as halo, deathrow, rallisport or a few other games.

The game isn't finished yet, and even in its current form, IMO, looks better than those 3 games.

YES!!!! This game looks awesome. IT HAS CO-OP! And I hope the missions are more fun than in Rogue Leader, RL was kind of boring if you ask me. I got gold medals in all the levels except Endurance and then I stopped playing it. I wonder how many levels will be in this game.

More info:

Wegde's Campaign focuses more on aerial combat in "between the scenes" original missions. Wedge even gets to fly the experimental Tie Hunter.

Luke's Campaign focuses on "on-the-ground missions" straight out of the classic trilogy.

New vehicles include:

Taun-tauns.
Speederbikes.
Tie Hunters.

-The revamped visuals even model how light scatters in the atmosphere. Wait'll you see Tatooine's twin suns set in real time. Bring a date.

-More extensive and far more detailed bump mapping.

-Vastly more detailed terrain (16x).

-Ability to shoot ewoks.

-No jar jar binks.

-More missions than original, plus much longer missions.

-Presumably the very best sound the cube is capable of.

-Ability to use the force (double jumps and laser blocking).

All the screens are untouched. I saw the game in motion (Endor is unbelievable). You'll all see it soon enough when we post the teaser movie on Gamers.com. It's a long trailer, and the footage is incredible.

The speederbike level on Endor is a track, and the trees whiz by at blazing speed. When you open up the throttle (click in the right trigger the whole way) you even get a nifty blur effect. When you're driving an AT-ST on Endor as Chewbacca, you'll have multiple routes through the forest. Besides commanding the Ewoks to launch catapults, you can also shoot log-pile boobytraps to unleash a flood of timber and trip enemy AT-STs.

I thought the Endor level was the most impressive stage I saw. The screens don't capture how every single fern and bush waves in the wind and the way the sunbeams shift on the floor under the tree canopy. It's just like being in Muir Woods outside of San Fran, where Lucas filmed the Endor scenes. We joked that the California State Park Service should license the software for virtual tours. :)

I don't think they've changed the flight mechanics. From what I could tell, it was the same.

The on-foot missions are very cool--you'll face a LOT of enemies. The wide-open spaces--such as the Yavin base--even kinda reminded me of a 3D Robotron, with swarms of enemies coming from all directions and laser blasts flying everywhere.

The lighting in the indoor areas is very dramatic, too, with lots of individual light sources and shadows. Nothing's faked--these are all geniune light sources. The perspective is similar to the hangar ship-selection screen in Rogue Leader (Factor 5 wanted to include some on-foot action in that game but ran out of time). The view is pulled back and a bit above your character. Oh, and you usually have at least one partner in battle--Chewie, Wedge, Lando, Han (it depends on the movie scene) and you can give these folks orders with the crosspad, as if they're wingmen. Factor 5 wanted to keep the play mechanics the same whether you were flyin' or runnin' or riding a Tauntaun.

Link. (http://forums.gaming-age.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31593&pagenumber=2)

This game sounds pretty damn amazing, I loved RL.

That's such a silly statement, though. You're comparing a game that's been in production for an unknown span of time. If the development of Rogue Leader 1 is any indication (5 months?), then I don't see how you can compare thes screens to Xbox titles that were in development for a year or more (Halo was real close to 3 years in the making). Particularly when this is a beta version of the final software.

Sorry, that wasn't meant to be a flame. I'm just saying it's too early to say much unless we take into account that it's not finalized.
