I bet we all have doubt about Square developing for Xbox anytime soon, but the thought really dawned on me a while ago...

With Square recently doing--seemingly--all in it's power just to be able to developer for Nintendo consoles without much argument from Sony; thereby, creating an all new development house, what's left for Microsoft?

I mean, what are the chances that Squaresoft would go through the trouble again, to form another subsidary to develop on Xbox? Even if it's not to much trouble, is the Xbox making a good enough impression on the company, especially with their high standards?

What do you people think?

I never thought of that...

M$ needs Square to survive in Japan. M$ has money. Squaresoft lost lots of money making FF the movie. Combine the two...it could happen...that's why their developing for Nintendo now...just another thought

I don't think Square is going to develop for the Xbox anytime soon. I think maybe in a few years they will, if Xbox sales pick up outside North America.

Well I dont know which regions of sales rare considers improtant. Like Euro, and Jap might effect if they want to make games for it. I really dont forsee and Square-Xbox development, or at least not any time soon. I assume the only reason they did the gamecube thing was so they could make GBA games.

Square has been making games for Nintendo's hand helds for years. Sony only really cares about Square's console games because they don't have a hand held. I doubt that had anything to do with Square making games for the Gamecube
