So, has anyone else discovered a new activity/passtime? I have recently decided to go dancing regularly. I went swing dancing this past weekend and I've been asked to go again next weekend. I am going to get some lessons before the band goes on.
That is, assuming I'm actually going. I could also go play poker.
Or, option #3 is to go out to a bar with some people from my church.
My final question is: why does everyone have to put all the fun stuff in one night?
Spread it out so that I'm not sitting home alone on a saturday night!

I'm in the midst of watching through three TV series that I bought on DVD. The Simpsons, Smallville, and Seinfeld. I'm also renting movie after movie via Netflix. I tried their free two week trial and now I'm hooked.

I've rediscovered reading for pleasure.
I have no time to pass.
Me neither. :(
Although I was sporadically thinking about taking some honeybee classes. On the way to my girlfriend's there's a hive house and they were offering free lectures. I thought that'd be a neat thing to put on a resume.

well, the time that i am not working i'm usually chilling with some buds of mine at the beach or at their place drinking and playing cards (poker usually), other than that i don't do much. i work 5-6 days a week, so i don't have that much time to spend, so it turns out perfect for me :)

Reading again, after about 3 years of book silence.
I also realized humor is a hobby. :D

I dont know about "new"...but my passtimes tend to be:
-Writing various things, nomatter how pointless.
-Excersizing/working out
-Drinking beer with friends
-Cooking
Cooking is the only new thing there that I discovered I love doing. So I guess its really the only thing that deserves to be on that list.
My final question is: why does everyone have to put all the fun stuff in one night?
My theory is that its because people have jobs and stuff, so they try to cram all the stuff they couldnt do all week, into one day. To sort of get it out of their system.
Because I dont have school, or a job, so I have 7 nights a week to "party" yet I only party maybe 3 or 4 nights a week. And I dont cram 5 things into a night, because I know I'll have time to do it the next night.
I work 7 days a week (though this is my alst week at work) so I don't have time to do a lot of things that I want...
After my tenure ends this week, I hope to get some time off to go down to the beach more often :p

well, for this generation, i'd have to say video games, but overall, i'd say football, considering the superbowl is the most watched sports program/any program ever in the world.

The only friend of mine who's not away at college is busy 100% of the time with his full-time job, community college, and girlfriend...
So I have a lot of time to kill on the weekends, and when I get off work... But so far no activities for me!
Once the paychecks start rolling in I'm gonna buy a guitar and let it sit in the corner and collect dust...
And my activity will be staring at it wishing it wasn't so damn hard to learn how to play well...

Guitar isn't thát hard to learn... you just have to do it one step at a time. Or no wait, I tried 4 things at once, but the trick is to train every day for a couple of minutes.
I learned a bit from these nice lessons: http://www.joice.dds.nl/index.html

Minesweeper is a big pastime now. Its so addictive, and challanging when you create your own ultra hard games.

I have discovered Addiction Solitaire on Yahoo Games. Its fun and I actually beat it once. I haven't played recently but its an easy way to kill a little bit of time.

I usually win like 3 to 4 games of solitare a day while I'm at work. Fastest time is 172 seconds.

I have a few pasttimes of my own. This first one is playing saxophone. Seeing as I'm part of the University of Pittsburgh Marching band, I get to play a lot. I play my sax whenever I can in my dorm room, but that's not very often anymore with all the work that I have. Another pasttime of mine..which is sort of one, is just studying geography. I love learning about little details in every country. I'm pretty much capable of naming all of the countries in the world except for all of the islands in the Caribbean and Oceania. And a new pasttime for me has been taking pictures. I think that I'm going to take a photography class next semester, but I have no clue how much time it will take up.

Poker. I have fallen in love with Texas Hold 'Em. The fad may be passing, but they have hooked a lifelong player in me. I play online at least once a day and I play in a bar tournament once a week (I've won it twice so far).
I have geared my game towards tournament play so I don't do as well in cash games.
There is something about a game that takes an enormous amount of skill, but in the end you simply depend on chance.

They're not great but I am trying to improve. Half of them I am just in the background there. Enjoy. :)
New passtime? Curling.
Future-new passtimes? Watching the Brewers win and the Packers lose.
