View Full Version : WTF
I just got pulled over by a cop for the stupidest reason. So, I was driving a girl home after our musical at school. And I was trying to see if I remembered how to get to her house, but I missed a turn, so we had to go in a circle to get back on the right street. So, anyway, this cop pulls me over and tells me he is pulling me over for failure to signal once and going in a circle. He takes my license and then comes back and says I'm free to go. What the **** is up with that?

Well, as long as you didn't get a ticket, I'd feel pretty good if I was you. I assume this happened recently (within the last few hours) which puts you at a fairly late hour...Cops are pretty much under the assumption that anyone driving around late on a Friday night is drunk. They'll pull you over for whatever reason they can muster up. Once the cop saw that you were just an innocent teen, he realized it was unnecessary to give you a ticket.
I've been in similar situations, and I've just been relieved to get out of there without a ticket.

Well, yeah, it was late, so I guess I might understand. But the guy acted really oddly too. He really didn't have much of a valid reason to pull me over in my opinion. Anyway, I guess it's no big deal, I was just pissed off.

Well, you can get a ticket for changing lanes or turning without signaling (I know people who've gotten one [the ultimate proof that its true]). Also, by going in a circle, do you mean you did a U-turn? Might not have been a section where you could do that...
Anyway...
I got stopped for not having my headlights on last July. I didn't get a ticket, either....

No. I mean circling around an actual road to get to where I started from to take the correct turn... if that makes any sense.

It's quite simple really.
Small town cop with a hard on.
I've got two moving volations in 6 weeks for boderline **** (not as borderline as that, but close.)

i got a speeding ticket in october from the senor french shower of state police.
ICBC just sent me a letter about 2 weeks ago. It said I didn't have to pay my $200 speeding ticket after all. There was a technicality or something.
that was nice. I had been holding off from paying it since September...and now I don't have any points off my license. BC boys know what I'm talking about. As it stood when I had the ticket, any other offence would've required my license suspensionfied.
so i'm happy.

What if you had paid it? Would you have gotten your money back?
/me shrugs and walks away
No, the ticket wouldn't have been in their attention if it had already been paid.
procrastination rocks!

"BC boys" aren't the only ones that have a point system. Most in the US start at zero and go up though.
I know, but the points system in BC is a beast of its own. It's also tied in with the regulations for 'N' drivers.
but yeah, points
