Favorite Christmas songs
Well, you've probably been hearing a ton over the last three weeks or so, so what are some of your personal favorites?
First the classics...I enjoy "Jingle Bells", it's a good track. "Silent Night" is very good too. "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" is very enjoyable also. "Silver Bells" and "Little Drummer Boy" are high on the list, obviously depending on the version, but the songs in general are very pleasing. "Winter Wonderland" must be there too of course, great song. None of the classics are really terrible, they are all very pleasant. Oh yeah, whatever song that goes "Gloooooooooria" three times, that one is cool.
As for newer stuff, "Linus and Lucy" and "Christmas Time is Here" from the Charlie Brown Christmas are fantastic. The Waitresses "Christmas Wrapping" is clearly one of my favorites, it's just such a happy tune. Run DMC's "Christmas in Hollis" is a really fun one too. Of course "Chimpmunk Song (Christmas don't be late)" must be included in any list, it's too good to pass up. Most newer Christmas songs are a letdown, but Rilo Kiley's "Christmas Cake" is pretty cool. Anyway, I'm probably leaving off a bunch, but list yours now...yo.
Edit: ahh, forgot about "Feliz Navidad" and some song by the Squrriel Nut Zippers...I may keep adding as I keep remembering. Add "Christmas Celebration" by Weezer and "Sleigh Ride" by the Ventures..."Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow" and "White Christmas" make the cut.

Re: Favorite Christmas songs
- Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire
- Merry Christmas Darling
- So This is Christmas (John Lennon)
- I'm Gettin Nuthin For Christmas
Yeah, I think you mentioned all the other classics, I love Christmas music, I could listen to it all year round.
I guess my favorite singers for the songs are Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, The Carpenters, and other old singers, I don't care for all these new, hip, youngsters and their versions of the classics.

Re: Favorite Christmas songs
I love them all. However, the most frequent one to run through my head is Sleigh Ride, like Dylflon said. But.. they all run through my head. They're all great. =D

It's another night in hell, Another child won't live to tell
Can you imagine what it's like to starve to death
And as we sit free and well, Another soldier has to yell
Tell my wife and children I love them in his last breath
C'mon now amen, amen, amen
