Ok I will say it i do copy games every now and again, I don't see why i should have to wait so long for PDO (which i must say F***ing rocks, so i will buy it when its out).
No they are all sweet little innocent angels who have never copied ANYTHING in their lives. Otherwise they wouldn't be so passionate about it.

And that even includes doubling movies, watching early releases of copied movies, double taping a audio cassette etc , listening to a friends burnt CD, or accidentally using an extra license with software at home/work.

doesnt matter cost. stealing is stealing.

Im not sure i get puppets TV example. recording a show off the TV is not illegal. not sure what is meant by that.

But yes there are many other types of stealing. And im sure everyone has done something at one point or another

just other people dont make a topic about it saying they will never have to pay again cuz they'll just do it all the time. So no one can talk about other people.

Yes recording off the the TV is illegal if you keep the copy for over a set amount of time. Just cuss a film is on TV does not make it PD!

Yo guys are joke!!

You live in wonderland where you do everything for the good of shome company that has never gave a **** about you, and never will.

The fact that you aren't buying original games doesn't even hurt them, you as 1 person don't make the difference. If so would my friends legit support of the DC make survive longer.... um no.

PD? wtf is PD?

And yes it used to be illegal when recorders were first made. Same with recording songs off the radio.

i seem to remember that changing quite a while ago. either that rule is gone. or they just dont inforce it/care.

either way dont matter to me cuz i do neither. was just saying.

Also it used to be illegal to hook more then 1 phone in your house up to the phone line without paying for a second line.

it used to be illegal to hook more then 1 TV up to the Cable in your house.

I think I've heard every excuse to pirating games in this forum, and not one of them holds any water.

1) Gaming companies are evil and take advantage of you - Then don't buy their games if you dislike them so much. Oh wait. You actually like their product? Then pay for it. Its called free enterprise, not "smash and grab"

2) I don't have enough money - I repeat, get a job. If you have a job and are horribly upset that you can't buy every game and every system that comes out, thats called life. Get used to it. I want a 2003 Corvette, but you don't see me going out and stealing one do you? Why? Its called illegal and ethically represhensible.

3) WAAAAHHH!!! WAAAAHHHH!!! - Grow up.

This issue isn't about opinion. Its not about freedom of information. Its not about technology, and its certainly not about Linux. Its about doing whats right. Its about having a modicum of ethics and doing what is right for the gaming industry and yourself.

There is no grey area. Those who pirate games are wrong. There is no way in which it is right.

As for $32,000 dollars being a lot of money, thats insane. Take away taxes, car bill, oil changes, breaks replacement, rent, utilities, credit card bills, school loans ($30,000 worth), cell phone charges, gas money, food, cable, telephone, 401K plan, mortgage fund and the 1 night a week at the bar and I'm living paycheck to paycheck. In 3 years I've managed to squirrel away $345 in my savings which I'm slowly building for my eventual need of new tires.

I own 5 XBox games and rent the rest. Could I have a lot more if pirating became common place? Of course, I could have with my Dreamcast. But I didn't because I know its wrong morally and legally and I care about more than just myself.

I don't see the problem. Money is hard to come by and stuff (especially for me). I don't have any pirated games, but I still don't see it as bad. People download music all the time. Isn't that stealing from the music industry?

thats an iffy argument.

if people download FULL CD's then yes. many just want one song of a CD. Some artists WANT thier music downloaded and put it on for that person for people to download. others dont.... not saying its right or wrong. thats a great debate.

if people only wanted part a game and not the full game. they MAY MIGHT MAYBE be able to get a debate on it at least. but theres no such thing. Downloading a Full CD, same as walking into the store and stealing it...... Same thing with games.

The salary of videogame programmers and music stars is a tad different.

Very iffy argument.

You don't see the problem because you don't see bobcat getting punished for his actions. I bet you would think any crime would be alright if one could so easily get away with it.

Of course money is hard to come by. So those who earn more of it should be able to reap the benefits. The rich have privelages...they can afford the things they want. Legally. If we don't have the money to buy something, we miss out on it. It's called LIFE. ECONOMY.

Money is hard to come by. So instead of working harder to earn more money to be able to live a more luxurious life, you just steal? Give me another offer cause I aint buying.
