Duh... Microsoft themselves are supposed to be making games for GBA. They just don't view it as competition.

thats because there is no competition for GBA.
and thats a smart thing to do. they may be helping nintendo out. but they are not helping thier competition.
since they dont make portables. why not make some money from the portable market in different ways.

We've got the N-gage from Nokia coming, we've got the Gamepark32 from a Korean company already, and we even have a 64-bit Ericsson handheld coming soon.
GBA will have competition. The Gamepark32 is out, just they're having trouble with lisences. There's REAL hot water ahead.

It's hot water because Nintendo is gonna have to turn up the heat to kill the competition.
And if MS leaves the GBA in the cold, well, good riddance. Let them be burned by Nintendo's portable wrath. If MS wants to stay in, there's gonna have to be some kind of partnership!

Gameboy is like Playstation... it has competition, but is it a real threat? I mean, if the old funky pixel screen GB could kill Game Gear.... I don't think any handheld with Nintendo's mark on it could fail.

a company would have to wait years down the road. when nintendo talks of making a new GB.
get the jump on them. market like CRAZY, and get it out before nintendo gets thiers out.
theres no way a company releasing a hand held now is gunna do anything. GBA is doing heavily good right now. its a poor idea to release a new hand held at this point in the GBA's life.
i mean even if people like it, the way GBA is selling, people are gunna be like.. . wow, i like that new one, but i JUST bought the GBA. oh well, wait and see how the new one does. and slowly it will fail.

When you think about it, Sony has 70+% of its market, and GBA has 90+% of its. So its even less likely that competition will make its mark. Especially when GBA has so many developers on it, and will probably sell through the roof this season.

If you think about it, Sony's grip may be a bit stronger... cause Sony right now has two competitors... both of which market thier systems near as good, and both that have equal developer support... and stronger hardware, and easier development
GBA hasn't really had to deal with Realistic competition yet. They crushed Game Gear, but wh expects Sega to sucseed at anything financially?

Unless maybe Sony makes a nice handheld with fairly good graphics that doesn't suck up batteries and has some very good developer support, and names it something with "Playstation" in the title, I doubt anything else would stand much of a chance against a gameboy system... *shrugs*

actually. when you think of the name sony has built up for themselves gaming wise around the world........... they very well could be the only ones that could make a portable system to overtake Nintendo's. people would buy it off its name alone.. that cant be said for the ones Dyne mentioned or bandi's wonderswan or whatever. people are just like who or what the hell is that?
