Oh...my...god.

The reason you can't argue about politics is that everyome is so willing to fight for what hey believe in. They refuse to change their views. As you do and I do. We won't take anything you or I say and agree with it because we have completely opposite views. We can't change how the other feels.

That's why wars start.

I'm just going to drop this whole thing. I still don't agree with you nor will I ever. You may think I'm stupid but I also may think the same of you. I could yell at you more and tell you what I think but I will not.

Don't for a second think Le French acted with any noble actions in staying out of the war in Iraq. Their actual motives for staying out of the war were as bad as the united states actual reasons for entering the war.

Ok, whatever lets you sleep better. I've backed up my views with facts countless times, facts you won't even bother looking at, and you just have baseless opinion. In the end, all you have is what you "think". If you had anything beyond "war is stupid" and "Bush is bad" I would gladly listen. Also, this whole "arguing is pointless" stance you have suddenly adopted is not fooling anyone. You have only come across this so recently because you have found your opinion has nothing to back it up.

Get informed, then come back.

You're just making me angry again. You can't shut up can you?

It's not just Bush is stupid, war is bad,

It's Bush is spending billions on a campaign to kill Iraqi citizens and steal oil.

Your opinion is respectable, although you have no factual basis for your statements.

Exactly my point. Until he shows me ANY factual basis for his arguments, then I will respect them. Until then, he's just babbling.

Dyflon, please find ANY information that says that Bush is warring against law abiding Iraqi citizens, not Hussein sympathetic paramilitary, and is currently stealing oil from Iraq.

Would you be saying the same thing if you grew up in Iran, Iraq, or for that matter, Israel?

War is bad. Simple as that.

Unless you're a little more Orwellian and you think WAR IS PEACE and FREEDOM IS SLAVERY. In that case I won't even bother beginning to wrap my brain around your logic.

Well, I think the war was unjustified.

Bush is spending millions on a campaign that is quickly turning into this millenium's Vietnam. And the first thing his millitary did was to send troops in to the oil fields, ostentatiously to "keep Saddam from blowing them up."

Sure MiniBush. Of course.

However, give the man some credit. He did not embark on this campaign simply to kill Iraqi citizens. Had he wanted to do that, we would have simply pressed the little red button on his desk... he wanted the oil.

And what is you Americans' problem with the French?

They stayed out of the war because the UN didn't approve of the war!
You're probably going to say that they stayed out because they were selling things to Saddam, etc.

Well so was the USA. Before the Gulf War, Saddam was an US ally, against Iran. The US sent him weapons, etc, including the gas that he eventually used to kill thoudands of Iraqi Kurds.

Same as the story in Afghanistan with the Mudjhadeen.

I have an idea. Instead of pointing out every single little grammatical and misinformed sentence Bush ever made and make a huge ****ing deal out of it. Let's look at the issues and how he is dealing with them.

Seriously, the damn demorcratic retards have nothing better to do than ridicule him. Personally I don't like Bush that much but this is incredibly ridiculous how some arrogant people are bashing him.

Wow, thats an overstatement if I ever heard one. No, the rebuilding of Iraq isn't going as smoothly as one would have hoped, but there are very few comparisons between Iraq and Vietnam. For one, we WON the Iraqi war. We never won the Vietnam war. Don't make mountains out of mole hills.

And this adds TONS of credibility to your argument

I have posted many times why this argument is simplistic and silly, I won't bother doing it again. All it does is free you from the burden of thinking.

Quote:
And what is you Americans' problem with the French?
1) Clandestine oil deals between themselves and Iraq during the embargo which spurred their opposition of the war.
2) Buy backs of medicine and food from Iraq that were intended for the Iraqi people through the Oil for Food program.

They stayed out of the war because the UN didn't approve of the wa!
You're probably going to say that they stayed out because they were selling things to Saddam, etc.
Lets see, they stayed out of the war because they were against removing a despotic dictator, or they stayed out because they were making a massive profit. Which one makes sense to you?

Besides, theres actually PROOF that France had those deals going. But I don't suppose actual proof means much when it doesn't back your beliefs.

Yes, but you can't look to the past with today's eyes. At the time Iraq was involved in a 10 year long war with Iran, who at the time were our biggest enemy as they had a American hostage fetish. Iraq was the lesser of two evils. And none of this has anything to do with whether or not the recent war was justified.

War isn't the ideal end to a conflict, it is sometimes necessary and many good things can result from it, as well as bad.

It was later discovered that America also gave IRAN weapons. They were paying tehm to kill eachother.

Socialism isn't a bad thing.

Canada is a somewhat socialist country, and in my opinion, we have a higher standard of living than US.

We have universal health care, where we don't have to mortgage our house if a hospital trip is required.

The point of my posting that was to simply bring some humour to this so called "Spin Zone".

We can do the same thing to our leader, who apparently doesn't speak either official language...

But the President of the United States seems to be embarking on a campaign of removing American's basic civil rights. The Patriot Act allows the FBI and CIA to spy on a citizen essentially.

Americans are typically misinformed about the current events of the world, if some even bother to turn on the TV and pay attention. (paraphrasing from Bill Maher)

Example: How many of you know of the Softwood Lumber trade disputes that are occurring between Canada and the United States?

I have plenty of non-personal things to criticize Bush about.

But I'll use one of your own arguments against you.

If the "damn demorcratic retards" have nothing better to do than "ridicule" Bush, why are you doing the same to them?
