Er... I don't think Temco will allow any of their characters in a Namco fighting game. If Sony of Microsoft want to put any hidden characters in their versions (that is if there is even a hint of truth to this link story), then they can't put in mascots of other developers games .

Link is a 'Nintendo' mascot. I don't think Microsoft have a mascot... Sony might, maybe that guy in ICO .

Couldn't the two third party companies work something out, just like the third party and the first party (Nintendo) could work something out?

But that guy from ICO would be a good idea... I wonder if he'd use the stick or the sword

But I dunno... The guy may not have said had a source, but why would he say that Namco said it was false if Namco didn't really say it was false?

Unless he heard it from some guy on a forum that claimed to be from Namco

Don't think so. I think that Nintendo now has more ties with Namco than even Sony does(I think). Just my two cents. Damn! Now I'm broke.

No. Think about it from Tecmo's position. They have developed a fighting game too (DoA3). Why would they want to put their characters in a game that is competing with it?

It isn't in a 3rd parties interest (such as Tecmo), whether or not Namco's SC2 for the Xbox has exclsuive content/characters, it is microsofts.

Besides, I doubt Link will be in SC2 for the Gc, although it would be cool .

(more than 5 hours later)

Look what the mail thingy of IGN says:

Link Not in SC2?

You guys should really let the readers at IGN know that Link being in SC2 was false. According to [another] website, Namco said they have no plans to have link in SC2.

Matt responds: I saw that quote. A UK Namco representative basically said that he hadn't heard anything about that happening. Not exactly a direct denial, but even if it were, our sources on the matter are pretty solid and we plan to stick by the story.

If you remember, Nintendo said that it had no plans to drop the price of GameCube exactly one week before it did. In other words, the official word isn't always the truth.
