Re: Nintendo Press Conference: Stream & Discussion
Those wishing for a new Zelda were perhaps wishing for too much.
I heard exactly what I want to hear -- Wii Sports 2 (Wii Resort) is coming out. That's all I've really wanted since launch, and that 1-to-1 movement looks smooth.

Re: Nintendo Press Conference: Stream & Discussion
It will be interesting to see if GTA: Chinatown Wars is a "toned-down" version of GTA for the DS, or if it will be a true GTA like on the PSP.
I'm not so sure if a true GTA game is possible on the DS though, so maybe it will be a return to 2D.

Re: Nintendo Press Conference: Stream & Discussion
I was just reminded why I chose the PS3 (360 would have been my other option) over Wii. Wii has a lot to offer as a console, just something different than I want in gaming. For parties, social gatherings etc. it can be a lot of fun. At the same time, I lost interest in Wii Sports after 3 times playing it. Mario was fun from the limited time I had with it, but it seems Nintendo is really focusing in on the "Wii ____" brands.
Compare them to other games we've seen on the PS3/360 like Fallout 3, Resistance 2, Resident Evil 5, Gears 2, Uncharted 2 (hasnt been shown, yet) and you just don't have a contest from my point of view.
However, I will say that Nintendo has done about as well as possible capturing the new casual gamer and in effect profited tremendously. Smart business model.

It was quite underwhelming.
That's right, I brought out the fail whale.

Not even a Kid Icarus??? They needed a serious game badly.
Dissappointing.

Re: Nintendo Press Conference: Stream & Discussion
When they first showed the Jedi game, I was stoked because I figured they would announce it was using the new 1-to-1 device.
Alas, that would be too clever of a move for Nintendo.

I saw that happening too. The DS is nowhere near capable of having that open world on a big scale like that.
Nintendo also failed to show anything with regards to gameplay for it.
Nintendo just failed for this whole press conference. Seriously. I think they're running out of ideas.
Shaun White Snowboarding partially interested me. If that. Not being able to jump on the balance board is gonna cause some quirky control stuff when playing in game, leading to sub-par gameplay IMO.

Re: Nintendo Press Conference: Stream & Discussion
Iwata said The mario and Zelda studios are still hard at work on new iterations. Its just they apparently werent ready to show them.
