Its overlapping rings of different sizes and colors symbolize diversity,

The Ring of Light will be available in both static and animated forms.

Come brothers, let us gather round the RING OF LIGHT!
Microsoft has instituted a cult...in a few years we'll hear about some mass suicide of Xbox 360 fanboys...the ring of light has taken their souls to a plane of eternal bliss...and free Mountain Dew.

Same here. But how could it? It has to have 360 sequels to live up to its name.

When I heard that, I instantly remembered something I had read about Eternal Darkness when I did a review for the game back at Nintendose. The main characters are comprised of over 5500 polygons. I'm kind of confused why Rare would even bother releasing that number for their next generation game, as it really makes them look kind of stupid. I mean, at 300,000 polygons on screen at once drawn at 30 frames/second that's only 9 million polygons per second. That's low end current generation. I double checked and it turns out I was right. Sources for the character model polygon count.

Oh, and by the way, there are a ton of really nice long trailers of the Xbox 360 game over at http: www.gametrailers.com. I just found them.

Yeah, and Leon from RE4 has something like 10,000 polygons...
While I'm sure they could easily fit more into each character (and everything else), the difference between ED/RE4 and PDZ is that deathmatches can have up to 50 players at once, and it can handle having all of them on the screen at once, or so one of the rareware guys said on that MTV show...

it should be able to handle a lot more then that. at a WHOLE lot more polygons per model. Theres 5 year old computer games that had a lot better graphics then that and held over 100 people PER TEAM online in a match.
i have no doubt in my mind that any of the next gen consoles can do that easily. PD0's problem is that its a port from a xbox game and not one built from the ground up on 360.

Re: Xbox Revealed
It's probably a port of a Gamecube game; would be my guess. But then again, Eternal Darkness was a port of a N64 game, it didn't turn out this bad. If they have to redesign the characters from scratch, then they should do that. It's not like this game was very far along before it took a turn to 360.
It's not like they were completely starting over. The design aspect of the game would only face a slight set back. The characters, levels, story line all stay the same. They just need to be redrawn.
But the development side should've started over. Maybe keep the physics engine, and the collision engine, but that's about it.
Rare used to be known for delaying games until they were done. Now, we present you Perfect Dark Zero. Another great game butchered to make Microsoft's launch. I'll be sure to save a spot next to Halo for it.

Re: Xbox Revealed
Well I think it's safe to say Sony and Nintendo have a good outlook on their unveilings now that Microshort stunk up MTV. Sony will clearly have a lot going for them at E3, and Nintendo whenever they decide to unveil.

what do you mean either? nintendo? then true, neither Sony nor Nintendo has made thier unvealing.
However for MS, that was it, that WAS thier next gen console unvealing, no matter how you spin it that was it. Sure they can have a strong showing at E3, and probably will, however, its already been unvealed, that makes people that much less interested in thier E3 event.
hmm, lets see, at E3 we can go see Sonys or nintendos unvealing, or we could go see 360 again....... HMMM. what to do... but as i said, MS will have a strong showing, its just that because of this mtv thing, its putting more fucus on Sonys E3 unvealing. almost exactly what sony would have wanted anyway.

Re: Xbox Revealed
Yes, indeed it was their console unveiling. And let's recap what we learned? - The history of gaming does not include PS2
- The future of gaming is a girl in a blue dress carrying a bag
- Xbox 360 can only be played through a Samsung HDTV
- They're pushing Xbox 360 customization, yet pimping an Xbox
- Instead of unlocking outfits, you now spend real money on them
- The Killers is the official band of Xbox 360
Wow, what a console unveiling that was! But we also learned some fresh new marketing terms - Hi-Def
- Interconnectivity
- Ring of Light
- Living Entertainment Experience
- "Chill" white
Well with Microsoft dropping out of the console industry, wonder if that makes room for sega to come back?
