Re: PSP Launch!
You don't need to plug into it.....
The PSP has wireless wi-fi and online. You can either play with people WiFi feets from you or you can use a Wireless router hotspot to go online... no cables.

Re: PSP Launch!
you misunderstood, i mean my home network doesnt use wireless. and instead of changing my whole network into wireless, im going to get a cheap wireless hub, plug it into the empty port on my network hub, thereby making a wireless transmitter for my house, i then could also just disable that port when nothing in the house is using the wireless connection.

Re: PSP Launch!
Best Buy can't hire me soon enough.
As soon as I get hired, I promised myself I'd get a discount towards a PSP. Without Wayne Gretzky's crap hockey game.
Too bad no games really appeal to me. I might just pick up acid.

Re: PSP Launch!
Is there or will there be a browser for it? My interest in DS returned when I heard about the PDA software. I don't wanna just buy the system for the games since those I'll eventually be able to play other ways.

Well, I practically HAVE to get one now...it just wouldn't be right not too, would it?
I mean, I have to help out our economy, be patriotic, and support the advancement of technology. It would be almost disrespectful not to buy one, wouldn't it?

Re: PSP Launch!
lol. i found a site that talks about it, it was from that buggy version that leaked a while back, sony is creatiing it, obviously it wasnt ready at that time. but it will have....
Web browser
Email
Word Processor
Spreadsheet.
calculator
a few games. most likely small games like a card game or something like the ipod has.
obviously everyone woudl now be thinking how do you use thoes without any way of typing, well its said they're making some kind of keyboard thing for the psp as well.
now a while back they had shown that thing that plugs into the top of the psp, its clear and you tap the letters like a touch screen that you want to use, or it could very well be a smal l fold up keyboard that you plug into it.
Either way, will be nice to have the email and browser, i could care less about the 2 office apps..
Also i was searching for stuff on emulators to run on the psp, and many sites claim that people are working on getting linux to run on the PSP, and DS also. that would be sweet. obviously tho if they could get linux on it, emulators are going to be a piece of cake for em.

Re: PSP Launch!
By "emulator" do you mean being able to play SNES or NES games on the PSP by downloading them?
Becuase if so, I absolutely have to get one of these. I never had a SNES, and even the idea of having access to every SNES game ever gives me goosebumbs.
And with the power of the PSP...I bet you could play any game from any console before this generation.

Re: PSP Launch!
Yes, i dont care about games you can still buy in stores and stuff. and i certainly have no interest in running a psp emulator on my computer to play psp games.......but to be able to play the old NES and SNES/Genesis games would be absolutly amazing. and theres absolutly no doubt in my mind thoes emulators to run on psp will arrive before the end of this year.
im a punchout nut too, id dig playin the old punchout games again on it. hehe.

*Brilliant!*
This is great. I have to have one now. Just imagine...every classical video game every created will be at your finger tips, in a cyber library just waiting for you to open them up and play.
I'm probably going to end up giving my PSP a virus. heheh.

Yeah, I realize that there is nothing solid on it yet, but it does sound promising, and the mere idea of it gives me chills.
But i've been looking at some screenshots...and even if these things we have been talking about never happen, just the sexiness of the PSP, and the way Lumines and Darkstalkers look are enough to make me buy one.

Re: PSP Launch!
let me tell ya. no matter how many screens and how many videos you watch, you are NOT prepared for how beautiful that screen on the psp looks when you play a game. it totally blows you away. im still amazed at how sharp, colorful and clear it is.
right now i only have wipeout. i cant wait for Hot Shots golf, Gran Turismo Mobile, i really really hope EA makes an SSX game soon for it a soul calibur 3 version would be pretty damn amazing also. lol. i doubt they'd make that one, at least anytime soon. GTA should be fun tho
Hey, if they did get emulators working and actually got a working N64 emulator to run on it, theres the ultimate irony, Mario 64 on the PSP.

Re: PSP Launch!
Hahahah. I would play that just for the sole purpose of experiancing the irony.
I've never been this excited about a portable before. But it's such a powerful machine that it can play practically anything, and with sony's huge third party support...wow.
The future looks bright. (pun intended)
