Yeah man, they are respect points. I am in the 90s now... My lineup is Steve Nash, Stretch and Me. I am a big white guy with a frow, lol. I have MAX dunk and rebound... And almost max power. Yeay.

My lineup is myself, Stretch, and that small kid with the handle skills.
How do you unlock NBA players though? I know you can get them in other modes of the game, but not the one we're talking about.

yeah those are respect points...i have over a hundred i think...i have stretch, my dude, and soon to be that guy imma beat in the tourny!! 
to get nba players you can unlock them in NBA challenge, or you could beat them in be a legend mode and recruit them for your team, i have come across tons already...they are pretty frikkin good, but stretch and my guy are better... |

i jsut beat bigge little 21-8 on medium diff...and i am gonna use stretch, jerry stackhouse, and my guy...no one can beat me...i blokck everything lol
3 things r maxed and one has the crown....and the 3 others (or 4?) i am workin on  damn this is great, and biggle little kind sucks...gonna have to see who the new whitey in te west coast is |

I'm now at 174/500 on Be A Legend mode. My team is myself, Stretch, and Richard Hamilton.
Eddie Griffin and Andre Miller on the bench.
I've beaten 1/4 the NBA teams with the Bucks. That mode is pretty cool also.
