lol

If you think about it, look at the console itself. What a piece of ****! How is that appealing to people? And look at the controller: AAUG! It looks so painful! It's horrible! I think they should PAY us money to play this crap. The controllers like a really horrible rendition of the original Xbox controller which I love: but even more blocky.

I don't know what's funnier... the fact that nobody knows who the hell the guys these are, or the fact they probably can't make a game for jack.

I also have this little bird nagging me that this isn't real. I don't know what to think.

Why do we all of a sudden associate the console with the most power as geared towards the hard-core gamer? Im a hard-core gamer and I don't feel urged to buy the most powerful thing around. Damn Microsoft and their brainwashing of people.

That's exactly what I said when I saw it... I know exactly how it's gonna turn out. Honestly, that console sounds like a joke.

Haha, whoever thought of the phrase "Online gaming is only a fad" is a genius.

Every manufacturer ever in the history of the industry has basically said "buy our system because its the most powerful on the market blah blah blah" MS is the latest to do it.

I'm basically speechless. I mean at least Indrema and Nuon had some valid ideas: Indrema was to be built on Linux, be open-source for small developers, and make money back on hardware licensing. Nuon had a similar strategy, but was backed by the fact that Nuon was more than just a way to play some ****ty Jaguar sequels on a custom DVD player. It was actually an entirely new compression technology that's still used today... and it was open source too.

I don't see anybody jumping onto this. If, say, I were a small development house I'd make one of my 32,000 retail games for a royalty free PC or go through Microsoft's Incubator program. Or transplant to Japan, tell Microsoft I want to make an Xbox game then have them subsidize me. But mostly I'd do PC. Indrema and Nuon at least promised some sort of open source to the loons that wanted to port Shogo Mobile Armor Division.

Is this even really a game machine? It sounds like it could if Broadband was in wider use, or functioned like a Digital Cable Box, or it was some sort of set-top box you plug your Xbox or PS2 in and download an Xbox or PS2 game to your system. Or something. But I would think Microsoft will or would just do that with XboxNext.

That said I'll gladly take over the Phantom section of Gametavern.

lmfao.... I wonder how hard I will laugh at a Phantom Phanboy

Just kidding, we will see how it preforms, and what games it's released with... then I will judge. If it is released with a Madden game (and a reasonable price), chances are that I will buy it

Chance of great success, this console has.

I'm with you... this system has great potential.

*thinks* A system in which you don't have to leave your home to get a game... you just have to order it. Hmmm, that'll keep me inside forever!

Methinks this console may rely too heavily on mass cooperation, however. As well, it would be an expensive investment, but very worthwile if it picks up. *drools* This system gives new lengths to piracy!

You can all laugh at the CD-I wannabe, but I'll look forward to its success. Think of the possibilities!
