I'm sorry Cyrax, but learn how to type.

These are all good reasons of why macs are better. I guess I just spend a whole lot more time on my PC to even think Macs are good.

GameMaster if I could afford one, and wasn't Building a Linux/Windows ME Dual-boot Comp, I would. I'm only using Windoze becuase I have a Non-refundable copy my dad bought me and I might as well put it to good use until I'm fully used to Linux and the Gimp.

My brother is getting a Mac this Spring, so at least we will have ONE of them in the household, if I get a laptop, a VERY likley scenario in the next year or so, it'll definitly be a Mac, not a PC.

My goal is to Build my Linux/Windows ME Dual-Boot PC, eventually start to get away from windows and Into Linux and have the enxt Machine be Linux-Only with a Mac Laptop, the one thing I will NOTY do, is buy anymore M$ crap. I'm using a copy of WInodws ME because I can't return it, if I could it'd be refunded, but it can't be, so I'm not ogin to keep bugging PC Mall to give me my money back.

I'll eventually have a Mac, one way or another, it just won't be soon, once I get more parts for the Dual-Boot PC, I'll try and take some Digital Stills, I'm going to give it a Killer Design, but I'm short on fund and that means I have to wait for some stuff.

Also I'll be mkaing suire evrything will runn in the Dual-boot Environment and Windows will be used as a "Reseerve OS" should I ahve a problem with Linux, in other words, it's a quick fix untilI can fix Linux if something goes wrong. I'm not going to make the same mistake twice with one OS when I could use two.

Uh.... have you seen the years a lot of these kids on this board where born in? You weren't even alive when that commercial came on. And that commercial was targeted at IBM btw. Not Microsoft. I actually liked the HAL ad from a couple years ago a lot more, though that was promoting the biggest piece of junk computer in history.

Macs are just fine by me. Mostly because I have no interest in computer gaming of any sort. And emulators for Mac seem more stable and less memory devouring than PCs. Like MacMAME. That's a bit better than PC MAME.

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I generally cut Cyrax9 some slack since he has Tourette's Syndrome.

One line, kids:

If you haven't considered OSX, you're an idiot.

I used to hate MacOS. In fact, I still do. But OSX has now evolved to the point where it totally kicks ass for desktop use. Unfortuanely, it'll only run on proprietary hardware, and for this reason I'll never buy it for my own use - I build every computer I own from freely available parts, and whilst I admire the dedication that's gone into making a great OS, I won't let myself get tied down to a single hardware platform.

But Linux still has cooler applications IMO. Unless anyone else knows of a piece of software for Macs that'll let me dial in from any inernet connection and tell my computer to record the film tonight, and then record the latest Radio 1 Essential Mix? True, you might be able to get most Linux apps running to some extent on OSX, but not natively.

There were talks way back of Apple considering porting to x86. I'm still waiting, although it's never likely to happen.

The best thing about Linux ain't the freeform GUI, y'know. Unless you're refering to hte cross-platform nature of things I guess. But then even loads of BSD apps don't work on OSX yet, let alopne Linux ones.

In any case, you still won't catch me buying an apple until I can buy it in bits from different manafacturers. Monopolies are bad, in hardware as well as software.

Why has my post cout dropped so low? I have no idea. Perhaps they deacy after a while...
