Chances are you rented skis and boots. Those boots they give you suck ass, and I know, having used them for many years til last year...if you get your own boot its so much better...much more comfortable, and dont make your feet feel like **** when you take them out. They aint all worn and they still have padding in them...

we rented all the equipment...and it was all new...i gues they haven't been open for a while because of the lack of snow these last few years...so they ordered new stuff...the boots were nice and comfortable, very soft on the inside...the skies looked quite new also...but it's not my feet that are hurting, its my shoulders
meh...too many hills...

It's normal to be VERY sore the first time skiing/boarding. Even the first time of the season for vets can get be painful. Not because of crashing really but mostly because you're straining muscles in your body that don't get used as much even in sports like basketball and hockey. I tried skiing again last season and I didn't like it. It felt way to flimsy compared to boarding. But if you have the chance to go up the hill do it. Great physicall exercise and fun.

Yes..i did about 4 years worth of skiiing before I tried boarding. It just felt so wierd being able to move your legs freely. I didn't like it. Boarding is way for fun in my opinion.

Depends on who you are. Some people find skiing easier while some find boarding easier. I was one of those lucky people who just picked boarding up. Carved on the first day and from there everything just went. I find skiing just a lot more uncomfortable and boring. I say give boarding a try. You will most likely be on your ass the whole day but if you stick with it you will be glad in the end.

I'd love to snowboad. I've never skeed or boarded, but it looks so much fun. Like Bouncer, I don't like the sound of skiing. With those stupid sticks and stuff... having to hold your legs together...
Snowboarding sounds so much cooler! Making cool jumps and stuff (I guess that's not for beginners though)!
I love 1080°!
Problem is, we don't have any mountains in Holland. So I'd have to go on vacation in Aurstria or Switzerland or something, and that's expensive.
We have some indoor thingies though... I'll try that once.

Some people say first time boarding is easier but it's just that snow boarding can have a steeper learning curve, then skiing.
