the difference in sales in US and europe is so small tho.. it wotn make that big of a difference.. in japan GC is CRUSHING xbox...
and i dont think that people in europe are gonna be like.. oh look microsoft bought out rare.. lets go buy an xbox....

Remember when Nintendo made an article on how they are lowering thier production for the rest of the year? Remember, a worker at Nintendp said that the fact they sold Rare guarantees a M$ victory in Europe... Nintendo Reps just don't say things like that.

There's no way they're going to 'win' just because of Rare...
Nintendo 64 had Rare but it still didn't sell well. Not as good as in America.

I sometimes wonder how Xbox could be beating GameCube in America... I mean here i dont know one person who owns an Xbox and none of the local stores stock Xbox games, hardware or accessories its like the Xbox doesnt exist.

Just because it doesn't sell in your area, it doesn't mean it isn't selling... In late 2001 here in Bakersfield, Ps2 was selling like crap compared to GCN and Xbox... then I saw the oveall sales and Ps2 was still kicking ass.

It didn't sell well COMPARED to somthing
But why speculate? We will see how the sales comparisions are doing once Kameo and Perfect Dark 2 is released. Xbox is already slowly grabbing Nintendo from behind in sales over there.

The question is when will Perfect Dark 2 and Kameo be released. They could be out relatively quickly, but at this point, we don't know how well Rareware does on a tight schedule (they're supposed to put out 5 games in the next 2 years, remember).

lol
I don't know a lot of ppl who own a Cube, but neither do I know a lot of ppl who own a Box. Online I know a lot of LotR fans who have a Cube (about 8 guys, while only 3 have an XB), but where I live, the X-Box is consider to be 'cooler'.
Man I type like an Englishman
Although XB will get PD and stuff, GC will get Metroid and Zelda.
I really don't think Rare can make XB a succes here.

The XBox sells like crazy in my area. And if you have looked at the EBWorld website you'll see that Hitman2 on the XBox is one of the top selling console games of October, and deservedly so.
The EB near me has a bigger selection of new and used XBox games than even the PS2. But that is only one region and is most likely (meaning definitely) not true in all of the US.
A for the future, I see the XBox growing considering the upcoming releases and the ratings that XBox games like Deathrow are starting to receive. After all, Splinter Cell, Mechassault, Brute Force and Duality are just a few of the games that are just around the corner. MS will have to do much heavier marketing soon though, especially for their exclusive titles if they want to move more consoles this holiday season.
Either way, at least I'll have plenty of good games to play

I would say that nes of rare and price cuts in the Euro zone has got around and we are starting see this. Gamecube Sales in the UK have droped just 2 weeks after SMS launched over here.
Uk sales for last week
GameCube 5,662 = to 218,421
Xbox 7,319 = 215,818
Well there you have it i'm not going to put PS2 on there cuss we all know it sold s*** loads more then both Xbox and Gamecube. But it does show Gamecube is not selling as well as some might think over here. In fact SMS only just took the Gamecube sales past the xbox by a 100 units or so for two weeks. And sorry i can't really see a game as old as Metroid selling as well as SMS Alot of people who are buying the Gamecbue are too young to have even played the first game.

That's what I always used to say concerning Nintendo game sales for the rest of the year... if Mario can't do it, nothing can this year. Maybe Cel-da will help sales, but it's all a gamble with this new cutsey Link.
