I used to spend a lot of time reading the entries on this site. Pretty interesting.
But for animals:
Aye-aye
Vampire squid
Goblin shark
Pangolin
Alligator snapping turtle (with optional girl)
Blue tongued skink
Pink fairy armadillo
Blue fairy penguin
Horned lizard (they shoot blood from their eyes)
Basalisk
Kinkajou
Lammergeier (diet of bones)
Hoatzin (claws on its wings)
...most of these I wanted to have for pets growing up.
