You again...don't you anything better to do than debate??
Now I didn't say Nintendo didn't need the good games..did I?? I just said that it takes time to get them out....but yes Nintendo could have done with some more good games near launch. But they seem to be doing pretty well so far. Even you got to admit that. But face it none of the 3 launches were spectacular at all. In fact the gaming business is now picking up.

Does anyone really care? I got sick of the Xbox/Gamecube debate well before the system's launched. Now it's just annoying. Not like I'm going to be buying either one of them again.

Fingersman, I understand that it takes time for a system to put out great games, but almost a YEAR? Thats poor planning.

Well I hope the GCN comes out with some more great games soon, because I'm planning on getting one with WMX8. Sp here's to hoping I'm wrong too.

To the person who said nintendo rushed the launch: Untrue. They released it a year later then they said they would.
Also, I find these sales good for nintendo. And if sony's next console has some bizzare thing that turns people off then ninny may have chance of really competing.

IMO all next gen launches were a bit below average (Ps2 being the worst).
Ps2 only had one game that interested me which was TTT.
Xbox had 2 games that interested me (Halo and DOA3).
GC had a few games that I liked such as Waverace BS and ROgue Squadron, and Monkey Ball.
DC was my favourite launch by far. Sonic ADventure, Soul Calibur, SFA3, Powerstone. It was all good. Ah the memories.

Lol, the same person who said it was rushed said Nintendo lies about dates
Think about it... Nintendo was NEVER planning to Release GCN in fall of 200, that was a blatant lie. Not one game would have been ready for launch... and apparently, the game farthest along indevelopment in Fall 2000 was Luigi's Mansion, which wasn't even near finished.
Fall 2000 was a lie date.. get that clear.
Fall 2001 was the planned date, and Nintendo should probably have delayed.... if they would have said 2001 in the first place, the delay wouldn't have been easier... but they put themselves in a hole of delays, so we got GCN in it's current form.
Not Horrible, but not near as good as it could have been.

Well look at the games that have been released since launch. Basically Nintendo had a decent handful of launch titles and then... and then... and then... and then... Resident Evil was released. That is an exagerration, but there still has been a drought of games since launch.
IMO, Nintendo would have waited until Spring to launch their system if the XBox wasn't going to be released in November. Nintendo rushed so that they wouldn't get cut off at the pass.
I mean, I WOULD believe that, but its not in Nintendo's character to LIE or anything...

Well, now we can see which one 'was better', so it's worth discussing. But I believe this should be in the Fight Club forum. Not that I care, but it looks kinda weird between all those E3 threads.
And Nintendo had to rush the GC in order to be able to compete with the X-Box. With succes if I may say so.
