Re: Mafia Round 1 - Tactical Appraisal
Not so hasty there Qui Gon Jinn (Vampyr) if Chewbacca (Dylflon) truly is our seer then he must be protected for the Rebel cause. As such at this time I take your vote against him as a suspicious act.
*Locks Qui Gon(vampyr) in Cell next to Padme(Jeepnut)*
You can remain there until I resolve something.
Chewbacca (Dylflon), if truly you are Seer as you say you are, then as Seer you have the duty not only to investigate suspects but also to report the truth of those findings, anything other than reporting the truth of those findings would imo betray the laws of the mafia Star wars universe causing it to collapse in upon itself.
You may investigate once a night, that gives 2 investigations before sundays conclusion, I say you investigate yourself tonight and you have to tell us the truth because it is the law. That way any doubt is cleared up and we will know for sure if you lied. If you are as you say you are you should be afforded the protection you so desire. You are the only one to claim the title so far I suppose. But I trust no one. Perhaps the grand overseer (Bond) will tell us wether the results of the proposed investigation are true or false made up lies. If you report your investigation and say you are good then the grand overseer says you are lying then we will have the conformation we need. If he says you speak truth then we will know you truly are seer. Saturday night we investigate one of my current suspects should they not respond to questioning.

Depends on what I find. I can't out good specials to the mafia. Also, outing normal good guys can be tricky too. The seer's usual protocol in these games is to build a secret network.

Two things wrong with that. I only can investigate once a round.
And seering myself makes absolutely no sense.
It wouldn't make any sense since I already know who I am, and since I can't copy and paste info from a PM, it proves nothing to anyone.
I know it's confusing because I think the rules say 'once per night' and that's actually how it's phrased in my role PM but that's going with the consideration that most rounds are only supposed to be one day long. The first round is usually longer to give everyone time to get on board.

Ok so I edited that post but that was while you were posting. What I am saying is, do we really just take your word that you are seer?
Oh only once per round, my mistake... hmm still...
EDIT: You cant QUOTE a pm. That does not mean you can not report upon the information contained within it. Otherwise I cant tell people that I am a Rebel (good) and I already have, several times.

Just reading through the posts it's hit me that voting in the first few rounds is going to be tricky business.
Also has any one seen my legs

Re: Mafia Round 1 - Tactical Appraisal
Right, sorry. All special actions are once per round. This first round is especially long so everyone has time to read the rules, their role PMs, and post in this thread.
Remember, the narration (and the days within) are just fluff.

Re: Mafia Round 1 - Tactical Appraisal
Just thinking about it now Dylflon
Why would you openly out yourself as the seer knowing full well the bad guys could kill you straight off.
I guess it's up to the gurdian to decide if he believes dylflon or not, because if he's telling the truth then he's prety much put himself in the crosshairs of the bad guys. And we're going to loose our seer very quickly.
But, the bad guys all know eachother, so for all we know this could be a trick by them to try and out the real seer.
I think you have put yourself in a very dangerous position Dylflon if you truely are the seer.

Since I'm the one that usually runs these games, I'm the most knowledgeable about how to play it, which makes me a big target to get killed by the mafia in the first round.
Vampyr is really crafty at these games which is why someone usually kills him within the first few rounds.
I thought I would out myself to get protected so I could get something done before being taken out.

Re: Mafia Round 1 - Tactical Appraisal | "Galaxy Go"
I think it's funny that it's only the first timers that are giving me their votes.
The regular players know that mafia never put themselves in the spotlight early on.
Ric seems to think that the way to prove yourself as a seer is to instantly reveal the results of a seering.
Doing that doesn't prove anything. If I were lying I could just say "I seered [name] and he's a normal good guy".
If that person confirms by agreeing it isn't reliable information because it could be a bad guy playing along with good press. The only way to fuck it up would be to say you seered the person who ends up being the vigilante because they'd know you're full of shit and destroy you.
The trick is building secret networks and outing baddies when you seer them.
If the guardian protects me this round, I'll be able to prove my identity in the second round.
P.S. Can someone make me a Chewbacca avatar?

Re: Mafia Round 1 - Tactical Appraisal
Argh.. Star Wars themed? The only movie I've seen is Episode III.
As always, whenever I start this game, I automatically become suspicious of BaB.. because it's him. But I'll hold off for now.
