Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum Thread
FRICK!
The game got delayed from June until... well the end of the summer which is oddly vague.

Hi everyone. There's been a lot of speculation about the Batman: Arkham Asylum release date. Eidos has just announced this statement (wanted you folk to get the official word first)....
"Eidos Interactive and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment can today confirm that Batman: Arkham Asylum will be released at the end of summer 2009. This additional time will allow us to ensure Batman: Arkham Asylum is of the highest quality for gamers."

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum Thread
They had a PS3 kiosk set up at my local Best Buy with a demo of this game.
From what I can tell, in the demo you just fight progressive waves of tougher baddies.
But it was really fun - I'm probably going to pick this up. The combat felt so perfect. You could use triangle to counter, and the game gave you alerts on when a guy was about to hit you. So you could be punching the crap out of someone, then catch a guy's foot who is trying to kick you under your arm and them slam your elbow into him.
You can also utilize your cape to stun enemies, and if you run at someone and press triangle you could jump over them and hit them from behind.
Not to mention it looks awesome, and I think you may actually take damage to your suit as you fight. After this one brawl I had a tear across the chest of my bat suit.

This game is awesome, makes you feel like the dark knight himself. I had little expectations to get this game, but now i think i will!
The controls are so easy to learn, but feel rewarding to execute. Mark Hamil is awesome as usual.

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum Thread
Demo was good. Reminded me of a less complex Metal Gear Solid game with Batman.
The conveniently placed gargoyles were suspicious, though.

Yeah those were plentiful, and coming from my schooling... not practical... its not a neutral image... and in an insane asylum.. yup
Anyhow, what takedowns have people done?
I finally got the takedown through the glass ceiling in the final room. Also a huge fan of the upside down one, always thought he dropped them but he actually hangs them by their feet.

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum Thread
HAHAHAHA after you hang guys up with the upside down takedown you can use a batarang to cut the cord and drop the guy onto the floor and knock him out!

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum Thread
Another thing I have to make a comment about is the voice work.
I have always said that Kevin Conroy is my Batman, and its nice to see him back in the role again.
Mark Hamill sounds a bit different as the Joker, but I guess this Joker is a tad darker than the previous one.
And of course, Harley Quinn's voice actress return.. though Harley... er developed in certain areas.

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum Thread
Okay finding new ways to freak people out is awesome.
I used the Inverted Takedown to tie one of the goons up.
His friend came over to check out what happened, and guessed called a 3rd one over.
The third one actually goes underneath the body so decided would cut the batrope, and the 1st body actually falls on top of him. Takes him out and freaks out his friend big time.
