I ain't gonna front, RE turned me into a lil b!tch when I first played it.
I swear, I always try to play this game late in the night/early morning, and I've found my self doing the most wussies sh!t I've even done in a game.
-- Whispering to myself. Stuff like
"I don't like the looks of this hallway, those bastards could pop from anywhere." I mean, wtf.... it's not like they'll hear me if I speak aloud. That's credit to the mood/atmosphere the game creates I guess. Either that or I'm just a b!tch in disguise. hmmm
-- Staring at specific parts of a scene for a while. thinking;
"that's bush looks suspicious, maybe if I stay here for a while, whatever's in it will come out eventually."
-- Take a while to build some confidents up before I progress down a suspicious path looking walkway.
but here are the two that takes the cake.
-- Taking a deep breath before walking through certain parts of the game. Not just taking a breath though. Taking a breath and actually holding that mofoo until my immediate fear is conquered.
-- Walking backwards down some paths. If something freaky happens up ahead I can easily make a dash away from it, back to safety, since your already facing that direction. If something freaky happens behind you, you'll most likely see it, since your facing that way.
Say whatever, but that last one is ingenious! I call it... "puss-walking"
Seriously though,
that's when you allow a game go to your head. The atmosphere around you tends to warp, and suddenly, your real atmosphere diminishes, and
the setting of the game becomes your true and only setting.
I find that when I'm not that attatched to the game, those pathetic tendencies are pretty much non-existent. It's really fascinating when you think abou it. I'll call it the concept of
"Atmospheric Warp." :eek:
