It looks pretty much the same as Sunshine, just a different environment. New variables, of course. But same awesome Mario fun.

Not that I needed it

This video sold me on the game.

You get to see its has diverse level styles at least planets.

Look like the planets are like hubs with hovering moons or whatever.

Looks like he got new powers.

Friggin goombas are back. Punch attack.

And shows some of the controllers and orchestra game.

~Edit~
Another Wii movie.

Very cool...to be honest from the moment I saw the brief video of it yesterday, ive been more intrigued by mario than any of Wii's other games so far. Moreso then even zelda. That video just reassures this fact. Its been too long since weve had a 3d Mario platformer...any word on if this is a launch title or not?

Wow.. That last video was great.. It reminded me of the first time I saw SM64, and how warm it made me feel with all the animations, details, and the breathtaking 3rd dimension. It also made me want to play through Sunshine again (for the record, I loved Sunshine) . At first I thought the name was stupid, but Super Mario Land, Super Mario World and Super Mario Galaxy, it makes sense when you think of it that way.

Still, I have to say that it doesn't look that good in terms of graphics, which is still a big deciding factor for a lot of people. Yes, it is still in development, but, I mean, it's the same as SMS, minus the very very nice water effects. And, unfortunately, when the dust settles, that's the only thing people will be talking about..

I was planning on buying only a PS3, but with the price announcement, and the quality of the Wii, I'm a Nintendo fanboy once again..

Really? I think the graphics are great.

I see all the Wii games running at 60 FPS with no slowdown. SMS only ran at 30 FPS, and there was slowdown there. So yeah, they could have recycled the models and added a bit, but it looks fluid as hell.

Think of it this way. Metroid Prime ran at 60 FPS, and it looked absolutely fantastic. Now they've revamped the hardware, added more texture buffer space (remember the first level in SMS, the mountains? horrible textures), and basically allowed every game to run at 60 FPS. Starfox Adventures looked way better than Wind Waker on this fact alone, and that was gamecube.

Developers have no reason to go 30 FPS on Wii.

I need this as well. The planet hopping reminds me both of StarFox 64 and Kirby 64 with a coating of The Little Prince.

Hmm.. I never really knew SMS ran at 30.. Never noticed it either. Would the casual gamer notice it? I have no idea, tbh. But the first thing he will notice is how similar it is to the console he thought was "kiddy".

There's almost nothing in the video we've seen, just 2 islands, a Mario, 3 toads, and a few stars, with some light-trail effects.

I know Nintendo said that this wasn't going to have the same power as the other consoles, that it was like a GC1.5 in terms of graphic power, but this is more like GC0.75 (just my opinion..). It's capable of more, and Nintendo, of all companies, should show that. Red Steel blew my socks off the first time I saw it, because I was expecting much less...

How much graphics wise can you actually pack into a mario game anyways, realistically? I mean inless you want mario to start looking like a highly detailed model from RE4 or something. Marios graphics are meant to be simple. And just for the record, I think the graphics look pretty good. I especially when he blasted from planet to planet like that, with no load times or anything, that was pretty impressive.
