cant detect my speakers

Default cant detect my speakers
its 3 in the morning and im desperate for my speakers to work to keep me awake to study...
my speakers stopped working out of the blue...i didnt change any settings watsoever...checked the plugs...evyerhtings plugged in fine..sockets...power points...connections are good...i went on control panel...audio devices...but the name of the speakers arent waht i have plugged in...those were my old speakers......i cant detect the current speakers there...i tried detecting hardware...but its not there either...
anyone got suggestions... ?

External speakers arent recognized as hardware. so the name of them wouldn't matter. you need to open up volume conrol and make sure nothing is muted and all the limiters are maxed out except for your master volume.
