He said put your money towards a car, as in save it. That way, when you move away, you can get a car and insurance.

The PSP makes him happy. Let him be happy.

Hey Dyne, congratulations! How's the quality of the Spider-Man 2 UMD? I know it's not really important but I think it's kind of cool you can watch movies on it.

Phil, I'm sorry, I love you, but it's "I couldnt care less". I just dont like it how everyone, always, constantly, gets that wrong.

Anyways, I'm glad you are giving in to the sexyness, perhaps now you can let a certain tall Emo/Scene-ish guy borrow Windwaker and your GC?

*Cough*

Haha.

I'm not interested in using PSP as an MP3 player, it would be a very expensive downgrade. I would use it for playing games, and all the tests indicate the battery life is horrible. It might not be a big deal for you, if you play it sitting in your house where you're free to charge it at your leisure. I could go out and buy extended batteries, and I'm sure Sony is more than planning on capitalizing on their poor product by releasing their own extended batteries to try and suck more money out of their customers. Excuse me for expecting a PlayStation Portable to actually be portable. If you want to go out and buy a PSP for $249 and then go spend more money on a extended battery, be my guest. Again, sorry for thinking I should get what I paid for.

In Iraq, I killed hundreds of hours playing my GBA SP and Nintendo DS. You think sitting in an observation post outside a hostile city provided me a chance to charge the thing whenever I wanted? This isn't the Playstation Mini, it's the Playstation Portable, and until it becomes portable, don't expect me to buy it.

Anything else in the world and this would be an over-priced product with poor performance, but since it's a video game system, everybody worships the stupid plastic box and you're insane if you don't fall in love with a 4.3" screen. Give me a break.
I think this the PSP is not your thing then. Because what most people overlook is the capability of the system. Many look at DS and GBA and compare their battery life to said PSP. But.... PSP's graphics... screen size.... resolution...... color depth.....are ALL a lot more powerful then the DS.... requiring more battery juice. That's why battery life with the PSP varies upon the type of activity your doing.

The PSP is perfectly portable... I don't always play it when it's plugged in... another miconception. But I don't find myself playing it portably for more than 4 hours.... that number is very irrational.

It does require more battery juice, which is why Sony should've included a longer battery. It's not like they don't exist.

All you're doing is making excuses for the PSP's short battery life. Despite all the reasons you may come up with to why the battery life is shorter, and despite all the reasons why you may not use your PSP for more than 4 hours, the fact remains that the PSP has a short battery life.

You're right, the PSP is not my thing. I want a quality product for my money.

Gekko, we respect your opinion, but try not to come off as bitter.

Anyways, more about me! I was only half satisfied with Lumines, but I picked up Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee today, and I'm completely satisfied with it. Thanks to DarkMaster and DeathsHand for the recommendation on it, I'm really really happy. I'm a huge Mario Golf fanboy and now it's great to have a 3D golfer in the vein of it, actually portable.

Woo!

4 hours of battery life is enough for many people, but there are some of us who live in rural Canada, and I take 8 hour drives pretty frequently, and often longer ones as well. I don't want to only be able to play for a few hours, and then quit.

I disagree with gekko on PSP not being a quality product, because it is, but there should've been better battery life. Sure, it's more powerful than the DS, but DS having 2 screens to provides battery for... that's a LOT of juice.

I think it's cool that you decided on getting a PSP. I hope you enjoy yourself with it, and I'm jealous that you are playing Lumines and I'm not.

Nope, I haven't purchased Wipeout: Pure yet, in which the trick is available. I'm don't really plan to in the near future either. I'm thinking my next purchase will be Metal Gear Ac!d.

Just explaining my point more clearly, since it seems to be a little misunderstood...

By quality, I'm judging it as a portable gaming system. Just like any other product, it's judged differently depending on what type of product it is.

Portable products have to be judged on a few additional criteria than its stationary counterparts. Its size, battery life, and durability are now a factor, as well as other items that make it more useful as a portable product. Laptops are the same way. If it's heavy, big, doesn't have many outputs, only gets a couple hours of battery life, and has keyboards that are difficult to see in the dark and hardware that is easily broken when banged around, it will be graded accordingly. Even if it is the most powerful laptop ever made.

But feel free to still disagree with me.
