You've seen and heard (official) information regarding Revolution that is more impressive than what Sony showed us during their pre-E3 conference?

Honestly now...with fans like you, Nintendo doesnt even have to try anymore. And that's sad...

I said that PS3 has more power. I also will tell you outright that it has a great set of upcoming games, and that anyone would be an idiot to think it's not a great system. Power isn't all that makes a system impressive to me.

This did not ask for what system had a better E3. It didn't ask for what system will be more powerful. It asked what system I expect to own upon release. I chose Revolution, because I love Mario. I love Zelda. I love Metroid. I love Nintendo.

Sony's got tons of great software, some that really appeals to me (MGS, Katamari Damacy, Ico, etc), and some that doesn't. Same with Microsoft, even though they aren't in this poll. But in the end, I love the 4-player action and classic franchises I know and love that only Nintendo seems to offer (Yes, I've played all current-gen systems, for LONG hours, and I stand by my conclusion that the best 4 player party system is GameCube).

If last week we ran this poll, I'm quite sure many people would've already picked most of the same they did here. People have companies they like, and that's who they will choose.

Why the hatin', man? I keep an open mind, and I don't trash any other systems, and yet everyone has me pegged for a bigtime Nintendo fanboy.

no hating whatsoever...I simply stated that when it comes to fans like you, Nintendo doesnt even have to try anymore. They just have to be 'Nintendo'...and you just made it more clear.

Here's another fool who picked Revolution. Not stating that Nintendo will sell better this generation... I'm just more interested in NRS.

For a Sony fanboy as myself... I keep as much of an open mind as I can... and everyone pegs me not only as a Sony fanboy but as annoying...

Don't take anything whole-heartedly... there are worse things that can be said about you...

And at the same time, nobody pegs Perfect Stu as annoying. How interesting...

You know what's even more interesting? The way everybody is declaring that the PS3 is more powerful than the Revolution when we haven't seen any official specs on the Revolution nor have we seen any demos of its games. You can say that Nintendo should have shown all that stuff, and maybe you'd have a good case. But you can't say for certain that the PS3 is really all that much more powerful than other consoles. At this point, I'm not even sure that PS3 games will look all that much better than Xbox 360 games. Once you take Perfect Dark's rather embarrassing showing out of the equation, Xbox 360 screenshots stack up pretty well side by side with PS3 screenshots. It takes a tech-head going over it with a magnifying glass to see the differences.

this can mean one of two things:

a) you're pegging me as annoying, which proves your statement to be false
b) you're expressing how one can be a 'Sony fanboy' without being annoying

which is it?

Well thats the problem with how many look at the extra power, they think oh its graphics!

thats not the way i see the extra power. i mean sure, i love graphics and i love for them to be better, but the way i see the extra power helping out even more doesnt have to do with graphics, it'll be making worlds bigger, it'll be in making many many more enemies on screen at once with better AI. while keeping thoes good graphics.

Take GTA for example, im sure no one would agure all the models in that game the current counsoles could make look MUCH better, i mean they could make cars look like they are in GT4. however they cant do that and have as big of a world as GT has with everything going on at once. The extra power helps to let that happen.

its too be seen how much the extra power helps the games, we wont know till we see the games, however, while some games look pretty much the same on 2 consoles, extra power on one will let a whole lot more happen on screen.
if there proves to be a big difference, which we'll just have to wait and see.

Ok, lets see how fast I get questioned about my desicion on this one. My vote went with the Revolution. Let me explain why... It's Nintendo 'nuff said!

Just kidding people. For starters, NES - N64 Downloadable. Wow, I mean, that is just awesome. When I learned about that, right there just caught my attention. True, PS3 will be able to play games from 1993, if you have those games anymore. Nintendo inables you to play the games that you grew up with, even if you don't own them any more. They consider the fact that most people don't save their games (or they end up getting lost). Or maybe you missed out on some awesome classic titles during the past generations. This should be great news if your an RPG fan, because of the SNES era. I wasn't that huge of a fan of RPGs during that time of my life. But the sad thing is, when I got my Dreamcast I picked up the Smashpack Disc. I really did enjoy the old school RPGs. I won't mind DL a couple of the early FF games. Not a fan of Square what so ever right now, but who knows, maybe after I play the earlier FF, I might just end up wanting to play more of them. Ontop of that, I've been dying to play some Resident Evil 2. It was stolen during my move from the US to Europe. And I can't find a N64 version (LOL at getting the GC version) anywhere around here in Idaho. And I know if I just go on Ebay I can find anything, but I'm that type of shopper that if I buy something, I want it RIGHT NOW! Not wait until it gets sent to me. I just think that that idea right there is better then any BC system that any system has come out with EVER!. Talking about making up for lost time. Enough of the whole Nintendo Past Time Thing.

As for as Graphical Power. Everybody is claiming the PS3 a beast. OK, no disagreement. But Nintendo has never disappointed me when it comes to graphics on their consoles. Unless you count the VB... since I never owned it, I don't even think about it. So I don't think that Nintendo is going to be any different this generation. As for the PS3 being 35x MORE POWERFUL! Sony is awesome when it comes to PR and Nintendo isn't. Heck, back in the PS days, Sony had some how convienced that the PS had better graphics the the N64 did. Nintendo just doesn't know how to hype up their graphics in their machines. Never have. Doesn't mean that it won't have some really pretty games on their machine. Sony is just better with the general public, (and we all know this) if it wasn't for them Video Games wouldn't be as popular as it is today. Nintendo doesn't know how to handle the press at all. They had a chance to brag a little to USA Today, and all they said was that it was 2x - 3x more powerful then the GameCube. Yeah, that has already been beaten to death around the internet. I think that the Rev will be on par with the other two systems. Unless somebody shows a screen shot of Excitebike for the NES claiming that is the graphical power for the Rev... oh, how I see this one coming.

Now for the games coming out. A lot of people seemed to be pumped for SSB Online. Doesn't intrest me. But Metroid and Zelda do. I don't care how old they are. I still love those names, and I love what they do for me in the gaming world. EA is going to support all systems, so takes care of my Madden Fix and the EA Big Titles. And for the future, I don't buy games every two weeks, so I don't need to have the latest and greatest. I usually wait about every 4 or 5 months to get new games anyway. So Nintendo's drought just doesn't bother me. And being the cheapo I am, I'm usually going through the Bargin Bins first before I even go and look at new games. Stupid Money runs the world.

Please tell me you're not getting this information from the Sony conference or from anything else hosted by Sony itself. Haven't you figured out by now that believing a company's hype about itself is useless and downright foolish?

But before I get into this more, I just want to hear what your source is.

And Stu, I'll take Option #2 with a side helping of another implication you haven't touched on.

Sony's press conference.... and I don't care what you say.... I don't think they'd downplay the Xbox 360 so much, just to make the PS3 look good.

Maybe.. just maybe.... in god's honest earth ... JUST MAYBE... it's possible that PS3 IS more powerful then the X360 in all aspects?

I don't believe they lied about the power of Cell compared to Xbox 360's chip architecture...... Look at the conference / tech demos / and footage.. you'll see its far superior to the X360....

EDIT: Might I add... the press conference tech demos and videos were being run on unfinished PS3 hardware..... just imagine the final machine.

I'm sorry Kyuzo, I refuse to fall for Sony's big numbers. I'm not saying that it won't be an awesome machine. I just don't think that it's going to be the Second Coming of Christ Hype.

lol.

I tend to agree. When they were talking about the Ps2 and the "Emotion Engine" at E3 so many years ago, they did the same thing.

The video of that army thingo looked amazing..........however I'd imagine that all 3 consoles will have the hardware to drive those type of visuals as well.
