Re: American Muscle vs. Japanese Speed
I have to agree about the Camaro. At first glance it seems like a powerful car, but all it is, is just beauty and the beast. The camaro handles like garbage. Out of all the american muscle... this has to be the worst car.
Firebirds, Thunderbirds, Chargers, and 'stangs (not the 90-04 stangs... the New Mustang and the old Mustangs)... are the best of the American Muscle right there.
Don't forget the Shelby cars.

Re: American Muscle vs. Japanese Speed
what catagory do dodge vipers and ferraris fall into?
anyway, out of those i would choose japanese speed...I'd like to own an Eclipse...i think the '97 model or maybe it's the models before the '97 that didn't have that ugly bump on the hood.

Re: American Muscle vs. Japanese Speed
Aha.... there you go... Thing is I like the 2nd gen Eclipses but then I also like the newer eclipse's styling. Pin those two together (2nd gen engine, 3rd gen styling) and you have a superb car.
Ever think about the Evo?
EDIT: Dodge Viper is American Muscle (Dodge is American). Ferrari is European.

Re: American Muscle vs. Japanese Speed
American Muscle without a second thought. I like a car that is fast in stock form. You shouldn't have to spend a ton of money and bolt on a ton of crap to get it to perform decently. That and a bolt on muffler that makes your car sound like a loudmouth lawnmower with a bad case of gas is NOT cool. I want the low, throaty growl of a V8. I want a car that can hustle off the line and sound like it's not even breaking a sweat doing it. It want tire smoke to come off the back wheels like a real man's car. Front wheel drive is for minivans and family sedans.
All this and by and large, Japanese cars are a snore in the styling department and the body mods usually don't help. Especially those gigantic wings that people put on the back of a front wheel drive car. Entirely pointless. Even in stock form, many true American Muscle cars are absolutely gorgeous.

Re: American Muscle vs. Japanese Speed
I know absolutely nothing about cars. I really couldn't care less, because I'm a speed limit driver.
I'm going to end up driving a minivan full of kids to 6am hockey practice anyways, so it doesn't matter.

Re: American Muscle vs. Japanese Speed
My choice is European.
Right now I can't afford anything that great. I'm looking at getting me an 89 325i soon.
I don't know how my friends can afford to drive their V8 mustangs around:S
I've always liked the 70-72 datsun z cars. (fairlady)
It's hard to find one that doesn't need a lot of restoration without paying mucho.
My dream setup is a mini with a vtech engine or a 60-65 bug with 180-200 hp.
Both will own pretty much anything on the road....the mini with a vtech has the same acceleration times as a superbike.

Re: American Muscle vs. Japanese Speed
Oh yeah? My brother went to school in Kelowna at OUC, and now my other brother lives in Penticton... goes to Kelowna from time to time.
I'm in Prince George right now at UNBC, then back to the hometown of Kitimat (you might not have heard of it... town of 10,000 up north, only known for our aluminum smelter, fishing, and hockey) for the summer.

Re: American Muscle vs. Japanese Speed
Of course I've heard of kitimat. Never been there though.
You at UNBC cuz it's cheap or is the uni actually good? Yeah, OUC in Kelowna is now part of UBC...which basically makes it harder to be accepted there

Re: American Muscle vs. Japanese Speed
I'm at UNBC because I wanted a small school, and I got a $6500 scholarship here. Also, being in the north is great too.

Re: American Muscle vs. Japanese Speed
American Muscle. I've recently acquired a taste for the classic models. Euro would come second and then Japanese. Cutlass' and Impalas are great cruising cars and I'm not a racer so they fit me.
My favorite cars are Audis though so go figure
Check out the Dodge Sprinter. Now thats hot.
