"The Cattiff Choir" should have been nominated instead. Nick Brooks can sing.

Re: the grammys...
Why? They're the best post-grunge band, minus the Melvins that are borderline everything.
Oh well, music is so opinion based. That's what makes it so fun!

The Grammys are terrible. As the Simpsons said, "we don't consider the Grammy an award at all."

dunno. never liked em much, they always seemed like just one of the group, never thier own style to really set them off.

Re: the grammys...
At least Green Day had the best performance. They've got talent, whether you like their pop-punk image and whether you like that they perform for people or not.

Re: the grammys...
I would much rather see a group like Green Day win than an Ashlee Simpson or other pop idol. At least Green Day has done their time and started off like every other band instead of getting in based on looks and/or connections alone.

Re: the grammys...
I like seeing all the artists interact together regardless of whether I like their music or not. I recognize most of the music that was played because my sister is always listening to it on the computer. In my opinion, I thought it was kind of arrogant that Prince couldn't show up to receive his award. I guess they don't know in advance but if they're being nominated they should really try to be there unless it's an emergency.

Re: the grammys...
Yeah, you're right about that people should have been notified before so that they could have showed up instead of un-attending the awards show. I didnt like all the country music and soul stuff but the tribute to Ray Charles was cool even though im not that big of a fan of his music.

Not that the specific people you are referring to are not guilty of getting in on looks and connections, but you seem to think (in spite of my efforts) that no one has "done their time" unless they are in a rock band. If someone is remotely pop you automatically label them as not deserving. It doesn't seem fair.
PS: The way Ashlee Simpson got it is not deserving, I do believe that.

The music I like is the only music with any validity.

Entertainment is valid enough, no? For whatever reason.
