Well, I guess all we can hope for is that this isn't just a bunch of hype.

Uh, that was announced allready a long time ago...so...that aint it...
Im at somewhat of a loss as to what it could be, maybe an announcement of some big game in ultra secracy for a long time, something thats been in the works for like 10 years...something that will make us piss our pants just hearing the name...

Firstly, there has been a Nintendo-Square deal of sorts, FF:CC...
The only 'other' thing I can 'think' of is, another Final Fantasy for the GC, maybe FF 12. Or Dragon Quest 8, maybe the next installment of MGS, MGS3, a remake of MGS1 with updated graphics, maybe a remake of FF 7... A proper 3D, RPG Pokemon game with online options...
Well yeah... Those are the kind of games that would probably make GC go 'boom' ...
Whatever it is, it must be related to the money gained from the Rare deal. So they could be buying exclusive content for the GC, or maybe a certain company, maybe capcom...
Then again, best to wait and see what this 'announcement' is to see if it's blown out of proportion or not...

Why do you say that? Even though they made something like 180 Million from selling Rare, wasn't it still not enough to meet their expected profits or something like that?
I dunno, but still

Maybe Nintendo will be announcing some new RPG's. Square might be making another one, Enix might make an RPG, Golden Sun might be brought to the Gamecube.
Maybe it's a Nintendo buy-out of a company. The one that comes to my mind the most would be Capcom or Sega. Think about it Microsoft gets Rare and it's exclusive gamesand in return Nintendo buys out Sega and screws X-box out of sequals to all of theire sega games.
I hope this isn't the magazine overhyping it though.

When I meant related, I meant to say that they would probably be using the money gained from the Rare deal to help gain support or something like that. I did say that in my previous post, I should have made it a bit more clearer.

Sega is way to big for Nintendo to buy. Sega is worth more than Rare and Capcom put together. As for Capcom, they are vulnerable, but I would be very surprised if MS wasn't already all over that at least to try a blocking strategy. MS has a history of doing 2 things to dominate their industries:
1) Creating a superior/competitive product (I don't care how many bugs Windows may have, it can do 10 times as much as Mac)
2) Buying the competition
I would be surprised if MS didn't immediately smell blood when it heard about Capcom's losses. And wouldn't it be funny if MS bough Capcom and then Nintendo wouldn't get Perfect Dark 0 or Resident Evil? I think it would (Yes, that was fanboyish, but in direct response to Mr. Nobody's comaparitive statements about Sega)

That would suck.
Although, I don't think it would happen .
Capcom is a Japanese developer who believes more in Japanese company than American company's. They pretty much make Japanese type games. If Microsoft bought them they would have to base their products more on American gamers. I really don't think Capcom would do that.
But, Possibly Nintendo or Sony could buy out Capcom. I personally wouldn't mind if PS2 bought Capcom. Atleast Capcom wouldn't be selling out.

Maybe the next Sonic Game will be exclusive to Gamecube, or the next couple of sonic games...that would be pretty big...
