They're not supposed to. The OS is designed to be put on the disc so there is never compatibility issues. |

I just got a 360 a little while ago and own both of those games. I get a lot of notices like this too, but I'm pretty sure they said "if you choose not to update, you will not be able to connect to Xbox Live" or something to that effect. I know I definitely didn't set up Xbox Live before first playing Halo 3. |

Well I took the two hours it takes to sign up to Xbox Live Gold (sheesh!) and now everything is working fine. My gamertag is ProfGrimaldi
