Re: Last movies you saw
The Third Man (1949) - It started a bit slow but Orsen Wells is f'ing cool. Selling contaminated medicine tsk tsk. 8.5 on imdb so you have an idea...
The Night of the Hunter - Watched it again. Its a creepy stalking movie. Pretty cool, making me look forward to Cape Fear with Gregory Peck and Robert Mitchum as the villain again.
The King's Speech - Rush was good as usual. Captivating enough movie all around. I don't know about best picture...I felt True Grit was better overall but, can't give to the Coens every time.
Chronicles of Narnia VOTDT - Crap. The 80's lowbudge was a better adaption.
Sin Nombre - 2009 about a girl traveling north from El Salvador or Hondorus...one of those countries. Good for the visceral shock of the gangs.
Not sure if i mentioned, Exit Through the Gift Shop - Its the street art movie that you've probably heard of. Interesting given the social context and the inclusion of banksy. I really like his UK work.
Black Swan - haha Vincent Cassel's character was comedy gold! The movie did a good job of making me squirm. Sick cool stuff that had a lot of the uncomfortable elements of Requiem for a Dream but less down and out drugged. Natalie was excellent.

Re: Last movies you saw
I watched The Source Code earlier. I really liked Moon (both directed by Duncan Jones), so I was excited for this. It was okay. It wasn't nearly as good as Moon, but I enjoyed it. The thing that really knocked it down a few pegs was the ending. I was actually really glad about the ending for a while. It looked like it was going to end on a positive note without having everything ever going the best way possible, but then it kept going. I don't want to say too much so as not to spoil it, though.
Overall, though, I enjoyed watching it and recommend you see it. If you're a fan of Moon, though, I would lower my expectations a little bit before entering the theatre.

Re: Last movies you saw
The Book of Eli. 7.5/10
Enjoyable apocalyptic story, decent acting.
Ginkasa, thank you for keeping my hopes down. I loved Moon and the trailer of The Source Code looked interesting (it's the one with the train, right?). I'll watch it eventually, but I won't expect a master piece like Moon.
Speaking of which... I told my brother to watch Moon because it was really good. Because of that, he thought it was decent. I shouldn't have said anything.

Get Low - 2009
Robert Duball, Bill Murray
This film was pretty good. I'd recommend it for my dad. It's about a man who's been a hermit for 20+ years..
-Bube, have you seen 3 Monkeys (2008) ? It's from Turkey so I though you might have heard/seen it. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1233381/
also, this one: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0880502/

Re: Last movies you saw
The Adventures of Baron Munchausen - Terry Gilliam's. I just couldn't get into this one. I looooved the German make from the 30's or 40's. So full of that aryan shit. Good movie. Gilliam's just seemed empty. Uma Thurman younged!
The Natural -- Robert Redford as an oldy rookie. I have a special place for retro baseball. Lucky Strike advertisements and simpler times. Good movie just a little bit tooo long.
Syriana -- It was ok. Can't say I was paying attention. Political plot driven
Rogue Male --Peter O'Toole makes any movie great. British gentleman attempts to assassinate Hitler.
Road to Perdition - - - Saw this again. Some nicely shot scenes. The ending was so fucking predictable, I would have preferred to have seen a well choreographed fight instead.

Re: Last movies you saw
Just saw Sucker Punch and I have to say I am rather disappointed. I'm not sure what I was expecting from it exactly but I thought it would be better.
It felt like it was trying to be really artsy and it was obvious that it was trying... If that makes any sense

Re: Last movies you saw
Erin Brockovich. 7.5/10
Way different than I expected. I think I expected some half-funny, half-sad story about a poor mom with 3 kids.

Re: Last movies you saw
Source Code
The good:
Seriously, <3.
The movie itself was scrapping the bottom of the barrel as far as "science fiction" goes. It also went for the Hollywood, happy-ending money shot. And all within the last like 2.5 minutes too. Bleh.
Crappy writing aside, the cinematography was beautiful. Chicago represent. And the Metra, woot woot! I ride the Metra (train) frequently, and I thought they did a wonderful job.
Saw Machete. Typical Rodriguez fluff with a few moments that were simply awesome. One such moment occurred in the hospital and...
-Non sequitur-
Rodriguez knows how to make entertaining hospital scenes. Amirite? Of course I am. Planet Terror, Machete, Once Upon a Time in Mexico...give the man an Academy Award for amusing scenes that take place in hospitals.
-Non sequitur-
...the other fun little twist in Machete was an appearance by Lindsay Lohan. Good stuff.
I also watched The Tourist. What an awful piece of shit. The chemistry was not there to make this slow thriller gel....just watch Mr. and Mrs. Smith for real chemistry and look elsewhere for a subtle thriller film.

I watched Predators last weekend.
Really awesome movie. The first Predator movie that stands up the original, and is actually better in a lot of ways.

I enjoyed the new Predator movie. I called it a popcorn-fun romp. I'd give it 3 stars if I had stars to give.

Re: Last movies you saw
Pride & Glory. With Edward Norton and Colin McFarrel.
I really liked it, I'll give it a 7.5/10. It's a story about a family of cops who find out there are dirty cops in their battalion.
